acer AL2216W -green column displayed continously

    Hi,
it's me again with my little baby :/ Due to the lots of (dis-)assembling the ribbon cable to the button board had a crack. So I soldered 15 wires on the soldering points of the boards to reconnect them properly. After having finished I wanted to test the functionality, plugged in my DVI cable, then the power cord. No picture appeared - I forgot to connect the two ribbon cables to the panel... So I unplugged both cables again and there I made the mistake not to wait for all caps to lose their load. While connecting the left ribbon cable, there was a little blue spark in the right (area of pin 1 to ~3). So I knew I may have screwed it, but I gave it a try after properly connecting it all. The result is a greenish column as you can see on the picture attached. It's best visible when the display shows dark/black, nearly not noticable when it's white. The display works fine apart from that (picture is shown, but with a green 'curtain').
Did I wreck the panel or is there a chance only some small parts are killed, so that replacing them could help?

    Any help is appreciated )

you must be clear for "blue spark in the right (area of pin 1 to ~3)", the pins of the pcb connector or the ribbon? And which side? Here is a similar panel datasheet:

those stupids not even have put indication of name where are the 2 connectors and also named those CN1 both. I think you have connected a 5v "V5A" to signals or 13v "Vin" to "V5A"..

Thanks for your reply. I attached a photo where I marked the spot I saw the spark. So I share your opinion of having connected the Vin to the V5A pin.

As a lack of knowledge I dont know how to go on checking it. What kind of information is being lead to the panel driver (which i guess is the circuit board on the top)? Is it just the order to put column X and line Y in blue or is it more complex? What's the RTD2553VH for?

/e: Okay, I found the datasheet for the RTD2553V, which is the driver IC:
Would there be a high possibility to have killed that IC and not the panel? What would be a way to test it?

can you see any damage to the cable or connector pins/pads - may just need cleaned up.

can you get to both ends of the cable to resistance test individual wires
Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

That's a good point. There are really some of the conductive pads loosened from the ribbon's plastic. Is it okay to put a minimum amount of superglue under them to fix this?

/e: Answered that question on my own. But that brings me to a new one:

HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT IT'S THE SOURCE OF ALL EVIL?

It's fully back in life (see the new pictures). Thank you so much!
