hello all
right i have an asus vw246h that started to flicker a little bit hardly noticable this lasted for a month or so and then came the 2 sec to black problem. in all my haste i changed all of the caps except the big 1 on the power/inverter board which made no difference still has 2 second to black . so back to bad caps for more reading and found this lamp testing with out a spare lamp
b) Alternatively, if you do not have a spare CCFL, then try this test.
a) TURN POWER OFF and unplug the monitor and wait 1 minute
b) disconnect all CCFLs expect #1
c) plug in monitor and turn monitor on - note if "2 seconds to black" occurs
d) TURN POWER OFF and unplug the monitor and wait 1 minute
e) disconnect all CCFLs expect #2
f) plug in monitor and turn monitor on - note if "2 seconds to black" occurs
g) TURN POWER OFF and unplug the monitor and wait 1 minute
h) disconnect all CCFLs expect #3
i) plug in monitor and turn monitor on - note if "2 seconds to black" occurs
j) TURN POWER OFF and unplug the monitor and wait 1 minute
k) disconnect all CCFLs expect #4
l) plug in monitor and turn monitor on - note if "2 seconds to black" occurs
after trying this i found that #1 does not light up at all but the rest do the 2 sec to black so i pluged #2 in to socket #1 and it does the 2 sec to black. so does this mean i am just in need of 1 new ccfl as i read somewhere that all lamps need to function for them to stay on. i have no pictures at the moment camera on charge and monitor back together will get some ready if more investigation needed any help at all will be much appreciated
many thanks gareth
