Nice fix. Strange to see disc ceramic fail, they tend to be quite reliable. Perhaps the design exposes it to over 1kV on some of the switching points, or the part is not rated for 1kV continuously.

Indeed that is a bit worrying, the highest MOSFET D-S breakdown voltage I can recall is 900v.

MOSFETs are commercially available up to 3kV breakdown voltages, but you will not see it in consumer gear. I have seen 900V rated FET in flyback converter once.

Hannspree HT 273 HPB USB cable type A to type B?
            by paparazzo79
            Hi guys.
I purchased the monitor from the link below:
            https://www.hannspree.eu/product/ht-273-hpb/
Since I will be using monitor from bed, I'd need longer usB type A to type B plug cable.
I got one which is 4.5m long, regular one
May I use it without harm to the monitor?
I suppose cable which came with monitor is regular type A to type B,not some speical cable.
I could picture what is labeled on the cable, if it matters for assistance.

            Hannspree T280H not turning on
            by cschappa
1st Post here guys. I have a T280H that the cat knocked over. Everything else was fine before the fall, but now there is no display. There is a yellow LED that pulsates dim to bright.

I have taken out the power supply, R0800-0805-060.
I tried to test the pin outs 12v, see pic, which reads 0.00
            I do have 5v.

Also, I noticed, the 2 metal heat sinks, checking the voltage between the 2 of them reads ~60v, but I am not sure if that is normal.

I have looked at another post, similar PS, but a little different.

            Thanks in advance...

            Hannspree HT231HPB - PSU Question
            by JFunc
            Hi there!

I have been given a non-working HT231HPB monitor to repair. The owner has misplaced the stock PSU, so I will power it from my bench supply.

However, before I start troubleshooting it, is there anyone out there that could please tell me what the polarity of the stock PSU is?

If you could tell me if it's center pin positive or negative...even better, if you could post a picture of the power brick label, that would be extremely helpful.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

            Cheers!

            Andy.

            Hannspree HZ281 - black screen
            by amelie2805
            SUMMARY
            ======
This is a Hannspree HZ281 28" LCD monitor. It has a black screen. The power LED is green, if connected to a computer.

            THINGS TESTED
            ==========
            1) All caps look good
            2) Fuses F211, F220 and F720 on the PSU are ok
            3) The connector between PSU and logic board (CN201) has +5V SB. If the computer is connected PS(ON) has 5V, but there is no voltage at pin 9 and 10 (+12V), and no voltage at pin 5 and 6 (+5V).
            4) If I remove fuse F211 (which apparently connects the 12V rail to the inverter unit), I have the correct 12V...
