it is c109 and it has 64.5 on each leg to ground.

Also testing with meter on 200 vdc the area in orange is the only area of the board with any power at all.

on 200v DC tested ground to each side of F1. Nothing. 0. Also tested ground to each pin connector. All 0. Ground screw to input side of transformer 63 v. I will try to get better pictures and read the guide.

When troubleshooting consumer electronics, one of the most important voltages to look for is standby DC voltage. This is typcially 5V DC.

In consumer electronics, we rarely need to measure AC.

List pin number and DC voltage for the connector like so (black probe goes on a ground screw on chassis).

    pin 1 = 0.0
    pin 2 = 5.0

Help with Tatung TLM-1905 LCD no power at all

I have a Tatung LCD monitor that does nothing at all. No LED on power button nothing at all. It had some bad caps which I replaced and that did nothing. I hooked the back lights to a different brand power supply and the display itself works fine. With power plugged in I have voltage on the large yellow transformer on the plug side nearest the big filter cap. Around 60v. I would think that mean the bridge rectifier is fine as well as filter on the output side of the transformer I have nothing. No voltage at all. I checked the resistance on the output and it is roughly 1 ohm. Would that indicate the transformer is dead? It does not seem to have been hot. There is no writing on the transformer to determine a proper replacement. Am I on the right track? Are these transformers some what universal? Any idea what I could replace it with? I would be tempted to buy a board but I can't seem to locate one. It is a LM004 Rev 3.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
    by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

    Assuming...

Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 - no power
    by PantherDave
    Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

    Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74 power issue

    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...
