    LG 1942TQ -stinks

    Here's a weird one.
LG 1942TQ from work. Was functioning fine, user complained that it smelled bad.
Help desk guy agreed, and replaced it. 'course I snagged it

Took it apart expecting an arcing lamp, melting connector, oozing cap or something obvious.
Nothing really. Power supply pcb has some heat marks, nothing fails the sniff test (powered off) and the Samyoung and Samwha caps all have flat tops.

    Wait a sec. What's that?
The big mains cap is bulged! Never seen that before.
Measured (in circuit) the ESR micro says "what cap? I don't see a cap"
My Fluke 87 says, .4uf or so. Will pull it and measure it later.
    Attached Files
36 Monitors, 3 TVs, 4 Laptops, 1 motherboard, 1 Printer, 1 iMac, 2 hard drive docks and one IP Phone repaired so far....

Pulled it and it's definitely toast. I just did a cap order, so will wait until I have more stuff to order, or perhaps I'll steal one from one of my spare boards.
'course on all of my spare boards you can't read the cap values on the large cap, and they're glued down.

Have had a spate of these lately ,
some swollen and some with corroded legs and a few suffering from both .
      Mainly in 22" Technika's and Cello's.

But as a rule you don't see it often

Samwha caps - known crap. Be lucky it did not catch fire yet. Replacement is easy to get on Digi-key, tough

Need Stanley SMCU-5 KHR1780 Excavator Controller schematic
            by CapLeaker
Anyone has a schematic for a Stanley SMCU-5 KHR1780 Excavator Controller to share? Its a 24V system. The one I am working on has all 4 MOVs burnt, a hole in the board where the 5 electrolytic capacitors and that heat sink is and a small smd cap decentegrated. The blown MOVs smells so baaaaaad. My truck stinks and by now half of the house too! Just waiting for wifey to ...

Help identifying connector for ASUS 4090 Strix RGB LED connector
            by 5mall5nail5
            Hi All -

I had replaced my ASUS 4090 Strix cooler with a waterblock and put the stock cooler on the shelf. Was moving it and snagged my sweater on the connector and pulled the wires out of the pins on the RGB connector. I tried to get them back on but its too small so I opened the stamped pins and tried to solder but its not a good repair and the wire broke on reinstallation.

Looking to replace the connector on the cable side and get pins to crimp onto a new cable. Bought random JST and such but nothing is correct. Can anyone help identify the connector and possibly matching...

Nvidia Tesla P40 (Q0V80A) Enterprise GPU, I put the power cable on backwards.
            by olliec420
Ok I screwed up big time and hoping I can fix. I will break down what happened and the images.
            • Have Dell PowerEdge R730
            • Bought Tesla P40
            • Researched power cables and order correct one, pic had two black connectors in photos
            • Power cable arrived, same connectors (EPS-12v) on both ends
Both sides are the same plug but different colors. The listing stated that colors would be random. OK I plug it in, red side to riser board, black side to GPU.
            • Power on.
            • System immediately turns off.
            • I only had 1 PSU plugged in and it was blinking orange, I thought I drew too much so I plugged in

            Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e Internal Photo's
            by sigh45
This is a long shot but does anyone have a photo of the USB Charge board wiring? I have a pair here that somebody has used a blowlamp to get the port off, Luckily the tracks are all good but some of the NC and filter cables were desoldered. A new port is fitted but there isn't a sniff of any marking on either side of the headphones as to the cables use. Here's hoping

            Cheers

Dell Optiplex GX620 with Oozing Rubycon caps
            by vince88
Unit is a Dell Optiplex GX620 tower with an Intel Pentium-D945 3.4GHz, 3.5GB RAM DDR2 and a 250GB SATA drive.
Units does not boot up. MoBo (see pic 'mobo') has two clusters of oozing caps, one around the CPU/GPU (see pic 1) and one around the extra 4-pins 12V power plug (see pic 2). All caps are Rubycon, see pic 3....
