image is ok but black Rectangule [M713-S3]

hi everybody


I have done a DIY videoprojector with a base of a packard bell sreen,

I'm using an ATX alimentation of a pc, (+12, +5, GND) and the signals BLON & BRI are tied to the ground.


The image is fine on the screen but there is a big black rectangle in... what could be the source of it?



I can see a cms component that could be a fuse, shoult I shunt it?

I have check every cable of the ribbon between the card and the sreen and all seems to be ok (with a ohm-meter) but

the blue stripe was black witch one staight line of blue, green and red

My guess is during the removal of the LCD you damaged those bonds at the top of the screen. It would be difficult to fix.

so for you if it's working like "half" the card is not broken?


The faulty cable is the one card-lcd or computer-card?

It is those little brown ribbons at the top of the LCD screen itself, and the damage is unlikely to be repairable.

You can try applying a little pressure to them, seeing if the picture improves or changes.

the picture change when I touch the gold plated pins near the rectangle but this is a slide to the left of the good right stripe

I think that is not when i disasemble the screen that I broke something becouse it was working fine some days ago

could it be another ribon who is wrong?

It was on and working - you switched it off and next time on it was black?

Without moving or changing anything?

yes, 2 weeks unpowered and since 2 it doesn"t work

Try reseating the cables again -if a flat ribbon to the panel clean and reseat.
Check the cable from the pc -is it ok on another screen.
