Pulsating Half Vertical line on edge of Acer AL2416W

    Hi all,

I have an Acer AL2416W that I just recapped. However, after finishing and putting everything back together, I just noticed that there is a vertical line on the right edge that goes about half way down the screen. It does not look like the typical vertical line -- it has somewhat of a pulsating glow to it. Has anybody seen anything like this before?

Try reseating and cleaning all your connections to every board.

OK, I actually have a second AL2416W that I recapped earlier, and I replaced every board except the one on the panel itself, and the problem still remains. I also tried disconnecting and reconnecting the small board on the panel (tcon?) but no avail.

I guess this means that the panel itself is bad? Does anybody have any experience with fixing this type of problem?

Just in case anybody else has this display, here are the components that I had to replace on the TDK inverter board:

        Q6: was P5504EDC, replaced with FDD6685 (Digikey part # FDD6685CT-ND)
        Q4: was P2804BDG, replaced with FDD6690A (Digikey part # FDD6690ACT-ND)
        Fuse near Q4 & Q6: 1.25A 63V Fast Acting (Digikey part # SF-1206F125-2CT-ND)
10X 100uF 35V Cap: United Chemi-Con LXZ Series (replace them all; Digikey part # 565-1979-ND)

Vizio E701i-A3 fixed but now has red vertical line
          by otaku_nut
Hi all, I tried searching the site for answers but I'm a bit over my head understanding some of what might apply and what doesn't, so please be patient with me. I used Freakaftr8's fix to remove the left driver board to restore picture to a black screen with sound Vizio E701i-A3. After doing so, I now have a large red vertical stripe down the center of the screen. The fix did require getting another t-con board from online, I ordered it before I knew about the mosfit fix for the old t-con board. I have tried cleaning the cable connections to the t-con board. I swapped the cables going from...

          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

          Kogan - KALED65XU9220STB - Blue Vertical Line
          by TrueSword88
          Hi all.

I have a Kogan 65' LCD Panel with a thin blue vertical line (top to bottom) on left hand side of panel.
The line just happens to coincide with the end of COF and start of the next COF (attached).

The line is permanent no matter what I've tried. I've tried pressure testing the panel (top to bottom) and all over, I didn't notice any difference with the line, either temporary or semi-permanent.

Also tried unplugging all flex cables, cleaned with isopropyl then re-inserting to no avail - line remains.

To fix laptop screen vertical line by working on its EDP cable
          by almarhum
Has one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?

As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...
