    Viewsonic VX2255WMB screen goes off

    Hi guys,
I own a Viewsonic VX2255WMB monitor, it's about 2 years old, monitor was OK until yesterday..
Screen comes in pinky color when I power it on then it goes to black screen after seconds, light still stays solid blue,
I disassembled monitor, took apart power supply, didn't notice any bad caps, what else could it be?

My guess would be that one or more of the CCFL's has failed, as evident by the "pink" hue.

One or more bad CCFLs. The pink color is typical of a CCFL at the end of it's life.

        Actually, I missed this part,
Pink color came up one or two months ago and pink color last only 4-5 seconds, after that I had no issue, pink color never lasted longer than 5 seconds..
Monitor turns to black screen since yesterday.
        still could be CCFL?

It just means that the CCFL was just starting to fail back then. Now, it's completely failed.

Re: Viewsonic VX2255WMB screen goes off

It requires you to dissemble the lcd panel to gain access to ccfl. Some ccfl slide out others are lay-in.

There's screws on the sides then the metal housing pulls off but you can not sever the connection to the tcon board, but there are screws on the tcon board to mount on metal housing. You'll want to be-careful because it's an LCD and it sensitive to pressure and can easily be damage.

Anyways I have a VG2230WM with a chi-mei panel that the TCON board or the bonding of the lcd itself to the tcon has gone bad and plus a transistor on the inverter has gone bad too so the unit does not stay on and the right side screen is not useable, But the bulbs should be good.

I'll try to harvest them tomorrow and give you the diameter and length with the leads and see if they will work for ya.

Well, it depends how comfortable you are with taking things apart. If you don't like the idea of attempting to fix it, then you can always part it out or sell it as is and use the money towards the purchase of another monitor. You can purchase new ccfl's through ccflwarehouse.com.

I have the same problem, except did not notice any "pink". (someone else was using it at the time)
Yesterday, Monitor went blank, pushed power button, came back on. Went off again, same thing. Then went off several times in 10 min, then stayed on for a few hours. Turned it off, went to bed, this morning would not come on, not even power light.

Yes this is a Viewsonic VX2255WMB.
                      Here are pics of board.

It did not just go off suddenly, went off, (power light stayed on solid, no flashing) hit power button, came back on, a little while later did it again, same thing. Then a couple hrs later it went off several times in 10 min, then stayed on for about 4 hrs, turned off, went to bed, got up, did not come on at all no power light, nothing.

With the monitor unplugged, try checking the main fuse, F801, below the power connector. You should read approx. 0 ohms on your meter. If the fuse reads good, plug in the monitor and measure the voltage across the the large blue 150uf cap. Be careful as it's high voltage. You should read approx. 165VDC.

Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

                                    Having this very weird issue.
The owner of this laptop complained about screen being intermittent when opening and closing, and has been using the laptop on a thunderbolt video connection since the screen failed.

I swapped with a working screen from an A2141 waiting for parts.

The Os exhibits this weird behavior where it boots to to 1/3 the status bar, then it makes the boop sound. It's at the log in but for whatever reason the desktop isn't loaded.

The laptop boots fine into recovery mode. I updated from Monterey to Sonoma and the laptop still has...

Hello. I have a problem with my AOC 27 monitor, specifically model Q27G2WG4, which I have been using for 3 years. The monitor stopped turning on: when I turn it on, the backlight turns on, the indicator starts glowing white, but the logo on the screen does not appear, and there is no image. However, if I check in the Windows system, the monitor is displayed as connected and working. I tried connecting it via HDMI and DP, but the result remains the same. If I turn the monitor on and off multiple times, it will eventually start and work. However, when the monitor is working, there are no issues....
