    Staples SP7106

I have been trying to find who manufactures these monitors. The tech tell me they don't know, but bring it in and they will look at it.
My problem is : the screen is black, power light on.
    caps have been replaced.
If I can get a schematic I can do a better test.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Tony

    1) There could be a fuse in the inverter area which would explain the black screen.

    2) There could be shorted fets in the inverter area.

    3) Post pictures of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Please do not post pictures inline as they slow down the loading of pages.

For best picture quality and clarity take your boards to a window on a sunny day, turn flash off, and use macro mode. Take a top down view of all your boards (front and back). Make sure the photo is legible so that we can read the PCB printing clearly. A shutter speed of 1/125 or faster will produce nice clear focused pictures. Try to get a photo that is 2000x2000 resolution or as close as possible.

Here is an example of the pictures we want.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Since the same power supply can be used by different manufacturers for different models, post some photos per retiredcaps suggestion and maybe someone can give you a different monitor model that your power supply is used in.

I have a Staples SP9106 it is actually made by a company called Hann Star. There is also Hanns G and I think one other name that all produced by the same company. Open it up and post pictures and I tell better if yours is made by the same company as mine.

Yes, HannStar makes Hanns-G (Hanns Graphics) monitors. They're also pretty big in the laptop motherboard market.

85c GP Xicons/Lelons??? How about some FMs, FCs, PWs, HEs, maybe HDs?

How does the soldering on those jumpers and transformers look?

Mm. It's one of those external PSU things. Have you tried a different power brick? Also check the output of all regulators on the logic board. The regulators are the 3-leg devices with a tab on the top side, in your first pic there's two of them right next to the connector that joins the two boards.

Yours looks just like mine on the power side. My main board does not have the DVI connector. I opened my power supply but nothing looked bad. I had tested it for proper voltage. I bought a second new power supply just to keep on hand. My problems are the same with either of the power supplies. I tested the inverter transformers and found two of them were bad. I had replacements so I went ahead and changed them out. Still did not get a picture. I changed the caps on both boards, but that did not get it going either. I have about given up on mine. Looking more and more like a parts monitor. I have done a pretty in-depth search for a Service Manual without any luck.
