Gateway FPD1530 dims real fast?

Well i got this real old monitor that i need to use but every time i turn it on the LED green light turns on and for a couple of seconds so does the screen then it dims so much i can hardly see anything ( it looks black but you can see the things your doing .. just a bit though...) any ideas whats wrong? I think its something related with the black light. But idk since some times it stays one for a wile then it goes off.... I can take pictures of the insides if needed.

Something making the backlight turn of, what that is is hard to just guess. So i would suggest you go ahead and take some pictures of the boards and post them here.
