Samsung Syncmaster 930b black screen Flashing/blinking Green light.

My Monitor doesnt seems to work anymore. I have opened it and i heard it could be the capacitors and . 1 of them are bloated upwards at the top. So its a 1000uF 16v 105c . All i can read and i am not sure if i will buy the right one.
Here is the capacitor i was going to buy but i am not sure if it is the right one and or type.
    http://www.frys.com/product/1005343

And should i replace just the 1 bloated or all of them?

The problem with that capacitor is that it doesn't tell the size or whether it's the low-ESR type that is needed in LCD monitors. When they don't say low-ESR, they usually aren't. The owner of this site sells good capacitors, and lists the sizes: https://www.badcaps.net/

digikey.com is another source with a searchable database that lists component sizes and has the popular Panasonic FM, FR, and FC series.

If there's one bad cap, there are probably others either failed or close to it. Power supply boards usually only have a dozen or less caps, replacing them all is safer and not much harder or more expensive. The biggest one usually doesn't need to be replaced.

It has to be a Low-esr? What if i replace it with the one in the link?

Electrolytic caps on LCD monitor power supplies usually need to be low ESR. Look up the specs for the original capacitor to be sure, but it will be.

The one in the link doesn't say a word about low ESR, which likely means it's a cheaper "general purpose" type. It also doesn't say how big it is. It could be too wide or too tall to fit in the room available. It also costs 2.5 times more than a good Rubycon from badcaps.net, or a Panasonic FM from digikey.

The chances of finding any low ESR caps localy are slim to none.
If you're in the US, buy either from badcaps.net, digikey.com, or mouser.com. They all have proper, high quality low ESR caps for the fraction of the cost.
Also, when one cap fails, the others likely aren't far behind. This is why many people here will recommend that you change all caps on the monitor's PSU at once (with the exception of the big 400v cap because that one rarely fails).

              Here are some pictures
Right now tell me. Does it need to be LOW-ESR like if i do not have LOW-ESR will it not work.

You have Samxon GF capacitors - they are indeed low ESR/impedance. Data sheet here:
                https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...f9651347cb.pdf

                To answer your question:
Yes, you can use non-low ESR caps, but the monitor may not work. And if it works, it will only be a matter of time before the non-low ESR caps overheat and bulge again.
Switch-mode power supplies (such as the one in your monitor, your computer, and many other devices nowadays) operate at high switching frequencies. Because of that, low ESR capacitors are required. When manufacturers cheap out and use either cheap or non-low ESR capacitors in a location that calls for low-ESR capacitors, you get the results seen in your monitor - i.e. failed capacitors.

For replacements, any of the following will do:
PW, PM, and HE series from Nichicon
LXZ, KY, and KZE series from United Chemicon
FC series from Panasonic (FR and FM will likely also work but those are a bit too low ESR)
                YXA series from Rubycon

I picked the above replacements based on data sheets.
Generally, when you have bad caps, you first find their brand and series, then you look for their data sheet on the internet. After you find the data sheet, find your caps (same capacitance, voltage, and size), then look up the ripple current and ESR/impedance ratings. Based on that, you look for replacement capacitors that have the same or lower ESR/impedance and same or higher ripple rating. There's a thread on here about different good low ESR caps (if I can find it...).

From your pictures, I see 3 other caps besides the bulged one that should also be replaced. There's also another cap by a green board - might as well get that one too. Last but not least, there's also a small cap near the main transistor (the black box attached to a heatsink) - replace that one as well. This small cap is the start-up capacitor. When it goes bad, monitor acts completely dead (i.e. no power at all).

General purpose caps will work for a while, then fail like the ones in there now. How many times do you want to fix it?

The photos don't show the labels well enough to tell the brand and series. Post exactly what the labels say and someone can probably find the data sheet to prove that they're supposed to be low ESR.

Reading on the bloated one it says
                    SAMXON 1000uF 16V 150c A U 1

Sorry, while I was writing my message, momaka identified them and even looked up a cross reference. In picture #1, you can see the other side of the label where it shows the GF series.

Next, measure diameter and height (in millimeters) of the six caps to be replaced.

                        Good Day.

I just replaced tcon on my sony kdl 65xg9505 and getting green amber leds blinking. all voltages are ok according to working sequence.

i downloaded firmware from sony and there is no .pkg fike.. after extracting it gives another file which contains multiple files like inf, payload.bin and 3, 4 other files. i just did that usb but did not worked. anyone knows anything how to do it..?

green amber blinking stops after while and then starts again. tv responds to remote control on off etc. before installing new tcon backlite was coming on without backlite...

Asus X453MA won't turn on and green led light blinking
                        by jxrepman
                        Hi there,

I have this ASUS X453MA Laptop that's not turning on. When I plug in the charger, the green light just keeps on blinking and pressing the power button does nothing.

I have checked the charger and it is giving 19+ V

I have disconnected the battery and pressed power button for 30 seconds.

                        I tried another RAM stick.

Tried disconnecting the keyboard and touchpad.

Tried disconnecting the HDD and the wifi adapter.

                        The problem persists.

Hope you could help me out on this one. Thank you.

Hello, Badcaps is my last resort. I am the first owner of the monitor. I reached almost every repair store in my area, but no one even wanted to hear about troubleshooting an old CRT monitor. At this point, I have been trying to figure it out by myself, but I have no idea where to start or look for.

I wish to know how to think and locate a failing component. I will put all my efforts to learn and contribute.

As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.

As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.

There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,...
