Power Inverter for LP2207 Gateway monitor

I traded something for the 22" Gateway LP2207 (KNOWING) It had some issues. Now my intent is to repair the faulty manufacturing of the power inverter board. I checked the graphics board found no problems but the power inverter has from what I can see three bad capacitors.

The capacitors I found bad are...if you can already guess, two ceramics and the 25 volt solid aluminum cap.

I de-soldered the burnt ceramics, thinking ohey maybe I can get some use before I get the 25 v. And replaced them with the ceramic caps used by the CCFL's on another power inverter (Same size/shape, stupid thing to do but hey..) An tried the monitor then. No go. Does this mean the 25 volt is causing the problem. I mean..The monitor starts, displays the gateway logo plays it's little sound then goes black.

If I unplug the DVI cord wait a few seconds and plug it back in I get a picture for about 2 seconds then black again. So I'm lead to believe that the 25 volt cap is the culprit now..Guess I can't have my cake and eat it..the cake lied.

I can post pictures of my solder job later today, the 25 volt cap is only pushed up slightly but I guess that's enough to screw things up.

Another question..can i replace the 25 v with another 25 v of higher quality or voltage without breaking things?

    Thanks

Since no one replied I figured it out myself. I replaced the two ceramic caps with a 10j 3kv ceramic disk cap and it worked fine after I replaced the 1000uf 25v with a 1000uf 35v.

Update: I replaced the 1000uf 25v with a 1000uf 16v cap. Seems to be working perfectly. Just using it as a temp fix till I can get the proper cap. So for anyone else who has this type of monitor you CAN use a 16v replacement.

Did you measure the voltage on the capacitor? If it's below 16V, then your replacement is fine. If the voltage is above 16V, the 16V capacitor may not last very long.

Maybe..for now. What is the dc voltage across the cap? I'll take a guess that it is above 16 volts. Don't do this at home, as they say. Curious why you replaced the high voltage ceramics? Usually there will be a hint such as a discoloration, or measurable leakage. Anyway, you discovered the problem with the monitor and that's great.
          Is it plugged in?
