LG L1917S - Randomly goes off for 2 seconds then turns on again

Hi.

I'm a new member to this great forum and I have a problem with my old LG 19" lcd screen. The screen is fairly old .. i have it since ~2005.

It turns on and working as it should but then it decides to go off(black) for about 1-2 seconds and then turns on again , then it may work for about 5 minutes (or 30sec or 3min or 10 min..) before the same thing happens again.

Could it be a bad capacitors issue?.. if not, what else should i check..?

Possibly bad caps, but we won't know until you take off the back cover and post some good focused photos of the power board. Use the manage attachments button for posting photos.

Thanks for the reply. I think that i've found what's causing the issue and it's not the monitor. I had the monitor connected to a laptop..when it's connected to a desktop it works fine. So, it's the vga output of the laptop combined with the LG monitor that is causing the problem.

The strange thing is that the vga output works fine with another samsung lcd that i have...... :S
