i also have a vx922 with fluctuating power from the 12v rail between boards. i have replaced all caps but the large 400v. still the power goes from 12v to 4v and repeats over and over. and the screen and green power light blink in time with it. what else could be the problem?

Re: vx922 recapped still fluctuating power
1) A clear focused picture of your boards using the manage attachments function would help. Please do not post inline as it slows down loading of pages.
2) If you disconnect the logic board and ccfls, does the power board (now standalone) have steady 12V DC?
3) What brand and series did you use for replacement caps?--- begin sig file ---
If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.
We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.
Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

Re: vx922 recapped still fluctuating power
Sounds like a possible short in the system. Power supplies for this monitor were supplied by different manufactuers, so without photos, help will be limited. If it's the power supply I'm thinking about, with power off, try checking the 4 surface mount transistors under the board marked "DK"? for shorts. Post some clear focused photos of the top and bottom of the power board. Do not post them inline, use the "manage attachments" button.Comment

Re: vx922 recapped still fluctuating power
is the circled fuse 1 supposed to be connected to the12v connector ? looks like the fuse moved , but is still connected well.
as for power when disconnected from the rest. no very minimal. when they are all connected, and the power switch is off, i get a steady 12.42v.
as for the type of caps, not sure it was all i could find at alfatronics. but i have all new panasonic fm caps comming from digikey soon.
thanksComment

when i disconnect the power board completly, minimal voltage.
as far as caps....NRWA series M for the two 470uf 25v (mine are 35v), and another no name with just an M on it for the one 330uf 35v, also the 2 big caps on the logic board g-luxon 411b(M) 330uf 16v, and one sheng 100uf 25v on the logic board.
if i put it all together again and plug it in with the power switch off i get a constant 12.42 v on the 12v connector between boardsLast edited by blutch; 03-24-2011, 07:39 PM.Comment

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by PantherDaveHi all!
I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅
I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

by meraklinetxHello, I have an asus Z97-A motherboard and it doesn't start which was working properly before, the problem isn't related by ram, ram slots or psu (I changed all and nothing work), the exact problem is when you switch it on , it starts and after 1 seconds (no boot or display picture) it's off and then on cycle continuously until you power it off from psu also it's responding to the power switch for turning it off if you keep pressing it 3 or 4 seconds (power button pin has 3.3v) , also when you start it with eatx 12v socket connected this is happening (power cycle also all voltages are resetting...
