    Optiquest(Viewsonic)Q19WB Qty 2

The faults are located on the PSU/Inverter Boards. The Manual can be found at:
    http://www.electronica-pt.com/index....tdown/id,4123/

CCFLs were tested using a test power supply and are fine. The test CCFL's were also tested to ensure they could be used, and they were fine as well.Various faults have already been repaired on the Power Supply, including Caps LP1337 etc,and all the Secondary voltages now read as they shoud
    Board 1)
a)The Board was connected to the Logic card, and the Control panel, with the test Lamps. The PC was plugged into the Logic card, but not switched on initially.
b)On applying Mains Power,Both Power led and the Lamps were pulsing in sympathy with each other AND with no ON signal appled,as the PC was still off.

    Board 2)
a)Set up as is in (a) above,Power LED to Green and no pulsing of LED and
BL's.LED then went into Power Saving and reverted to Amber, again no pulsing.
b)PC switched on, and the Logic recognises it and and Power LED goes Green, and now statrts to pulse on and off,as does the BL's.Irrespective if one or both lamps are plugged in to the top or bottom sockets. If I remove the CCFL's the LED continues to pulse, until Power removed.
c)with PC VGA plug removed from the Logic card,so there was no ON voltage. An external voltage was then applied instead and the Power LED and CCFL's started again to pulse together,BUT continued to do so when the external signal was removed ??.The latter was tried on Board 1,and that simply flashed once and then switched off.
The Inverter Controller is OZ9938GN,and the Mosfets are Dual 'N'Channel AP9971GD's.The supply to the Controller is also fine.
Measuring the Mosfets do not seem to indicate a short, and all of them on Both boards measure the same on Diode testing ??.
The Output transformer secondaries ,are all in spec.
I am now at the stage that I can't see the wood for the trees, and really need some input please.

This is just very simple stuff and I am sure you know these things,
A lot of monitors will try to power on to the last state they were in [If main power was disconnected and the monitor was on, when the main power is reconnected the monitor will try to turn on].
On the first board just to go over simple things.
Good stable voltages at the connector from P/S to logic.
What is the back light on signal doing when the CCFLs and PLED are flashing.
What voltages are you seeing on the voltage regulators?
Can you disable loads on the system, Unplug the ribbon cable to the LCD.
Figure out a way to disable the inverter section.
It really acts like something is causing the P/S to start and shut off repeatedly.
Start out at the edge of the forest and slowly work your way deeper in.
Whatever I do, I consider it a success, if in the end I am breathing, seeing, feeling and hearing!

      LCD Cable Not connected
All voltages are stable, and by putting an ON voltage on the Board, externally, the Logic voltages do't come into play.
Will look at disabling Inveter section....so so easy to forget these things when starting to lose the plot !!!

Also look at the component that ALMOST never fails - the large (100uF, 450 V cap.

For a number of reasons, both health and personal, I will no longer be active on this board. Any PMs asking for assistance will be ignored.

The Large Cap is fine, thanks for the advice.Further Tests, however on the Board 2, finally restored it to working condition.Faults in total on it were,D804 which rectifys the voltage for the Vcc was faulty(although that did not show, either in or out of cct). The mosfets 10 ohm source resistor had gone high, and there were dry joints on the Inverter transformers, and particularly the Blue caps to the CCFL sockets.

Now for the other one !!!!!

820-00165 pulsing and stuck at S5
            by speggio91
            Hello everyone!

I have this board that got slightly water damanged and it is stuck at S5 state. It pulses once every 5 seconds.
When connected the magsafe 2 to the bench psu, the current goes from 0.02A to 0.10A when is pulsing.

When using the genuine magsafe 2 charger, the light turn on and it became green and then amber. The fan is not spinning.
When I tried the SMC bypass mode, the fan spins a quarter every 5 seconds and the pulsing is still present every time the fan spin.

The pulses are present in the CPU Vcore rails on L7320 and L7310....

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
            by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Sonos Play 1 pulsing power supply
            by Goldwing1973
I'm rather new to repairing electronics, i do know the basics of most components but never actually repaired a PCB, but i want to change that.
So, i bought a faulty Sonos Play 1 speaker with the intention of finding the fault, and replace the damaged part.
Well, i did find the fault, i replaced parts that i thought caused the problem, but no-go.

The problem is a pulsing power supply, when i connect the mains to the board and hook up my thermal cam i see R306,307 and 308 getting warm, but i assume that's normal.
But, whats is not normal is the pulsing of resistor...

Will I have a bricked logic board after reflow of the GPU v-core U8900 chip on my Mid-2012 15" Retina Macbook pro?
            by korben_dallas
Hi everyone! I'm trying to fix my black screen / failed U8900 GPU v-core on my Mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15" Retinaby doing a rework/reflow of the chip (once I determine that's the real issue; but it likely is).

I've been disabling the GPU in NVRAM for a few years... but it's just time for a better solution.

I'm new to soldering but the only feasible way to fix this issue is to do something myself.

            MY QUESTION:
I've been seeing some people (on this forum mostly) run into issues with the logic board needing a serial number or it being deactivated (?)...

LG 60PK550 Logic Control Board EBR63450301
            by Yanleb
Hi all, I just want to share the repair of my 60PK550-UA TV set.

The TV set was powering on, just no image. After verification, nothing wrong on the YSus or ZSus boards. Nothing wrong on the main board either.

But I noticed that the LED was not flashing on the Logic Control Board. This is an EBR63450301. The LED is supposed to flash even with all the flat cables disconnected, with only the power cable attached.

All the voltages measured at the electrolytic capacitors on the board were good. From top left to bottom right:
            C57: 3.30V
            C61:...
