    Retired Caps:
    Thanks for your quick response.
    1) With a working pc attached and as bright a flashlight as I could find, there does not appear to be any image on the dark screen.
    2) The "Please Wait..." stays on for a mere second.

What caps did you use as replacements?

    1) If you hookup a working computer displaying your favourite wallpaper, can you see it by shining a flashlight on the lcd?

    2) How long does the "please wait" stay on before going to black?

    AOC Envision L19W861 failure

Being the newbie here, I have looked all over hoping someone else had the same problem I've had. This RadioShack unit worked fine for about 2 years as a closed-circuit tv monitor for a security system. Then one day it just went black. I replaced all the caps (except the largest dog on the field) and all I get is the power light flashing red when I plug it in. Upon hitting power (on board or remote) the red flashes about 6 times and turns a steady blue. The monitor flickers, displays the usual "Please Wait..." and goes black. I have check and rechecked solder joints, wiring, plugs, etc. The unit is 3 years old and is good for nothing but a paper weight right now. Any ideas??? Please?

Repair of an LG split AC system indoor unit PCB
    by ngml
I am trying to repair an LG split AC indoor unit, which does not start and gives a CH05 error code.
This indicates an error in the communication between the outdoor and the indoor unit.
The outdoor unit is fine, so the problem is the indoor PCB.
The indoor unit is an LG PC09SQ NSJ (3SNM09JA2FA), and the PCB has the following type number: EAX35907219-1.2 (see photo1)
I changed optocouplers ICO1X & ICO2X and the NPN transistor S9013 which drives optocoupler ICO2X (see photo2), but this did not remedy the fault.

Does anybody have the schematics of this board,...

KDM 480W PSU upgrade succes! (opinions?)
    by bauto601
Back in 2020 i bought a (2nd hand) compact ATX psu to replace my current one. My PC case only fits very short ATX power supplies so i didn't really have the choice of buying a decent 80Plus unit. The current unit is a modded YoungYear unit that i made a thread about a while ago:
A "nice" YoungYear unit? - Badcaps

The "new" unit is a KDM-M6480 480W psu, the 480W number is a typical KDM bullshit claim of course, but the 24A rating on the 12V rail seemed reasonable and the "Active PFC" claim gave me a bit of hope that this was going to be decent-ish....

    Repair Success! Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP
    by valvashon
Yesterday I successfully repaired a Middle Atlantic UPS2200R-IP that had inadvertently been used as a surge suppressor at our transmitter site. It has already been replaced with an updated one but it's coming home with me now instead of being e-cycled. To be specific, this is the MA model that has the blue backlit display and has been discontinued, although this design may have been used in many UPS units including the smaller Middle Atlantic ones in this series.

Here's what happened: We experienced a brownout/surge at the site, which damaged the UPS and took our broadcasting...

    Cyberpower cps1500avr not charging batteries
    by carrzkiss
    Hello, all.

    Cyberpower Battery Backup Unit.

I bought two new ML18-12 batteries through Amazon (They have already refunded my money for the two batteries as we thought the batteries might have been bad.)
When I got them in, they were not fully charged. I connected them to the UPS and waited 24 hours before connecting any networking equipment.
In parallel, they read 24v, but within 24 hours, the meter on the front of the unit dropped from 4 to 3 bars on the battery charge indicator.
Checking the voltage, it was down to 22v.
    I quickly removed everything...

Tearing-like display artifacts on Philips BDM4065UC
    by madcrow
    Hi There,
Anyone familiar with this kind of display artifact?

    Gallery: https://imgur.com/a/tYc2dWK

At a superficial glance, it sort of looks like screen-tearing. But that square-wavy boundary is weird...

    The phenomenon was detected on
    • 3 screen <=> PC combos consisting of
    • 2 different screens (same model: Philips BDM4065UC)
    • driven by 2 different PCs via
    • 2 different Nvidia GPU models (one desktop, one mobile) multiple generations apart,
    • running on 3 different Nvidia drivers, each with siginficant age-gap,
    • under Win10 Pro 22H2.
    Connections...
