I had another idea. Point a fan directly at the logic board to cool it and play your game again. See if it goes to black.

I got my VR's today. they were too small. No biggie I ordered some larger ones. I Haven't tried the fan thing yet, but i do have a question about soldering these VR's on the board. and my question is How? are there any tricks to it? i can solder but never had to solder VR's like this before. Any suggestions or pointers would be great.

My bad. It was hard to tell the exact sizing from the photo.

I don't have first hand desoldering, but these videos by CuriousInventor are really good.

        ChipQuik might be necessary?

          WOW! that video is awesome!!

Again, dont sweat the VR size. I knew it was hard to tell the size. besides they are only like 60 cents each, so its no loss.

ok so I finally got the VR's soldered in. Had to wait for a Loupe to get here. and here's where it gets worse. Screen now blacks out frequently, every 2 seconds and its all fuzzy(best way to describe it). I have a video of it on my Iphone........

I'm in a rush today, but remeasure the voltage on the new regulators and report the findings.
