    Samsung SyncMaster 932B

    Hello!

An absolute novice here! I came into possession of a Samsung SyncMaster 932B monitor that has the infamous "2 seconds then black" problem... So I took it apart and saw that the PSU board has 2 CapXon caps bulging.
I plan to recap the board but I want to make sure I have picked the right substitutes.

    CapXon spec sheets are here:

The original capacitors and my planned substitutes are:

    CapXon 1uF 50V KM 105C
    RUBYCON 50ML1M4X5 CAPACITOR, 1UF, 50V
    http://lv.farnell.com/jsp/search/pro...sp?sku=8126933
I am most concerned about this one as CapXon has 13mA ripple current but my planned Rubycon has 8mA ripple current. Sadly I do not have much choice as Farnell does not have better options. Perharps this one (can I use 130C instead of 105C)?
    http://lv.farnell.com/rubycon/50rx30...50v/dp/8126984

    CapXon 47uF 50V KM 105C
    RUBYCON 50YXF47M6.3X11 CAPACITOR, 47UF, 50V
    http://lv.farnell.com/jsp/search/pro...33&Ntt=1144633
I already have these Rubycons from my previous recap job.

    CapXon 330uF 10V KM 105C
    RUBYCON 10ZLJ330M6.3X11 CAPACITOR, RADIAL, 10V, 330UF
    http://lv.farnell.com/jsp/search/pro...sp?sku=1831266
Or maybe I can use the one below as I have it from my previous recap job?
    PANASONIC EEUFR1E331 CAPACITOR, RADIAL, 25V, 330UF
    http://lv.farnell.com/jsp/search/pro...48&Ntt=1800648

    CapXon 470uF 25V GL 105C
    PANASONIC EEUFM1E471L CAPACITOR, RADIAL, 470UF, 25V
    http://lv.farnell.com/jsp/search/pro...sp?sku=1219470
This one is slightly longer in size but I think it will fit.

    CapXon 820uF 25V GL 105C
    PANASONIC EEUFR1E821 CAPACITOR, RADIAL, 25V, 820UF
    http://lv.farnell.com/jsp/search/pro...53&Ntt=1800653
I have this one from my previous recap job.

    CapXon 1000uF 10V KM 105C
    PANASONIC EEUFM1A102L CAPACITOR, RADIAL, 1000UF, 10V
    http://lv.farnell.com/jsp/search/pro...sp?sku=1219456
This one is slightly longer in size but I think it will fit.

I will double check tomorrow if my selected capacitors actually fit when the monitor will be reassembled again.

    Thanks in advance,
    Janis

Hey Janis, you can go with 130 degrees for the caps. But it will be more expensive than the ones 105 degrees.

      Thanks, stan999 for your answer!
I measured the space available for the replacement caps. If I go for the 20mm (in height) ones, the caps' tops will slightly touch the plastic. I assume it is not rather good... but is it bad?

Looking for best replacements for Capxons, but can't find data sheets
        by withalligators
Recapping the power supply board for a Samsung 305T monitor, everything is Capxon except 2 Rubycons. I can't find data sheets matching these online, so don't know what ripple numbers, impedence, etc, to look for. There are a few different looking GL series data sheet PDFs, but the listing that matches the capacitance and voltage is a much bigger case size. I've narrowed down selections with lead spacing and case diameter, and what's in stock at Digi-key

1 x Capxon 1000uf35v GL C720(is this a part number or batch number, can't find it anywhere) 105c

        1 x Capxon 1000uf35v...

        Samsung Syncmaster 740BF repair
        by soopacrucial
        Hi folks,

I'm new here and was wondering whether you might be kind enough to give me some advice on troubleshooting the following problem:

Quite a few years ago now, a couple of years from new, my Samsung Syncmaster 740BF LCD monitor starting playing up by making a buzzing noise and then the display would go blank. I seem to remember the blue power led would also go off when this happened but that I'm not 100% sure of. By pressing the power button I do remember I could at first get it working again but eventually the problem would come back. At the time I had read about...

        Picking caps for Antec SU-380
        by ajdrenter
In my search for a proper 5v heavy ATX power supply, I selected an old Antec SU-380 that I've had in storage for a long time. Opening the power supply reveals a couple bulged capacitors. I removed all the caps and made a map for myself. I found the datasheet for the PCE TUR series in this thread:
        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14159
It says these are general purpose, so I assume I can replace them with any general purpose capacitors, but I don't really know anything about power supply circuits or reading capacitor datasheets. Despite this, I've been shopping for replacements:...

Samsung SyncMaster 215TW buzzing / lightning in power board socket
        by nh2
This is my first post here. I just fixed my first 2 broken displays by replacing broken capacitors (Samsung SyncMaster 226BW, and Samsung SyncMaster 213T). But I have a third one I'm unable to fix, and am eager to fix as well:

My Samsung SyncMaster 215TW makes a buzzing / hissing sound when turned on.

The sound is louder the brighter the monitor is, e.g. in the "Game" preset is is even louder than in a softer preset.

Opening up the monitor and unplugging the small socket cables that run from the power board to the LCD, I can see a small blue...

KingWin ABT-650MM 650 Watt ATX PSU [PCB: SW8835REV:A]
        by momaka
For today's thread, I have a KingWin ABT-650MM ATX PSU. Official web page with the PSU specs is still up and can be found here:
        http://www.rmac.kingwin.com/products.../abt_650MM.asp

I just can't help it when I see a broken / for parts PSU on eBay that's listed for cheap and looks at least somewhat interesting. Well, OK, I won't lie – on the outside, this PSU looks anything but interesting. It's a plain gray box with colorful “spaghetti cables”.

What mostly drew me into buying it is its 2x PCI-E power connectors...
