i have an I-Inc 19" LCD monitor, Mod. # HSG1022, Mfg. Date 11-2008 that is dead. Well, not quite dead, it gets power and flashes something on screen every few seconds, just some colored rectangles or something like that.
Google search lead me to believe that there is a chance the power supply has bad caps, so I opened it up to check. There do appear to be 4 caps that have slightly bulged tops, as opposed to completely flat ones on all the others. All these caps are Samxon brand: 3 - 1000uF 25V that measure 12-13x20mm, 1 - 470uF 25v that measures 10x15mm. They have marking of "105 degrees CF", and "SF(M)".
I don't see any leakage or bulging except that the tops are slightly convex.
Since Samxon is a recommended brand sold here, and they are not that old, I don't want to jump to the conclusion that they are at fault, but I am wondering if this is the likely cause of the monitors problem, and what replacement caps I can use? None of the Samxon's listed on badcaps.net seem to be an exact match.
The power supply is Li Shin, Mod. #0801D243. if that helps at all. It also has these caps that look OK: 1 - 100uF 400v which measures 16-17x30mm, 2 - 330uF 25v that measure 8x14mm (all Samxon), 1 - 47uF 50v Rubicon that measures 6x10mm. There is also 1- 10uF that I cannot read the other specs or brand, due to it's proximity to other components and a dab of glue on it. It measures about 5x8mm. It has a jumper switch that is labeled:
1<-->3 7.5mA
2<-->4 7.0mA
1<-->2 6.5mA
if that would be of any use in troubleshooting.
I can provide photos of the power supply if needed.
Although, I had never heard of this brand monitor, the LCD is Samsung and the circuit boards appear to be of good quality with no obvious defects, other than possibly the 4 caps. Any advice, tips, or source of a replacement power supply much appreciated!
