    JBL PB12 Won't Turn On

I have this sub that broke years ago which gave me an excuse to get a new one. I didn't get rid of it because I was hoping I could repair it. I used to get noise from the sub when nothing was playing. Then one day it just wouldn't turn on. Today, I took the amp board out and took some photos. It doesn't look good, but I was wondering if I could replace some items that look scorched.

You can see the names for the components in this photo. The scorch marks make me feel like these components are toast.

This photo makes me think the board is actually cracked. I'm wondering if it would even work if I did replace the resistors and transistor on the board. And finally, here are the main filter caps (3300uf, 80V) and diode bridge rectifier:

You can also see the fuse in that photo, but it looks fine and not burnt out. Am I crazy to try and fix this board? Thanks for the help!

I don't think the board is cracked, it looks like the PCB has carbonized, the voltage found a new path to travel...
Usually when you have this type of damage there will be more parts destroyed.
So the best advice is to check those big resistors, then follow the path from the obviously dead transistor and see how much else in its path is destroyed...

Re: JBL PB12 Won't Turn On

Thank you for the reply! I'm thinking I'm going to replace several components. This is the list I'm going to replace:

Diode Bridge Rectifier: The one on the board is an RS804. I think this is the suitable replacement part.

Filter Caps: The current caps are 3300uF 80V. I think these would be a suitable replacement. I couldn't find any Panasonics at Digikey.

      Components near carbonization:

Transistor 1 (Q3): Currently, MPS W56 221 (PNP). I'm not really sure how to find a replacement for this.
Transistor 2 (Q2): Currently, MPS W06 226 (NPN). I'm not really sure how to find a replacement for this.

      2 x Large Caps (C17 & C18): Currently 200uf 50V. Best I could find are these.

R6 & R9: This might sound dumb, but I'm not understanding the color coding on those resistors. If I'm doing it right, I'm seeing gigaohm resistors???

      C4 & C9: 22uF 25V. I think this will do.

      C2: 4.7uF 50V. This one maybe?

Can anyone confirm what I've got above to make sure I'm not crazy? Also, I would love some assistance on the resistor color coding and definitely on the transistors. Thank you!

Re: JBL PB12 Won't Turn On

It's brown-red-red-gold, it has just been heated up so much that the color bands got burned up... You can make a sanity check with a multimeter: it may still measure ok.

The reason I know this is because the service manual was available with a 2 second Google search
R9 should be rated for 3W while R6 5W, I would just go for 5W for both:

The transistor was also found with a quick Google search, links here.
Just look for something similar with the parametric search on Mouser, Digikey or your favorite place.

My Oled Tv is 55inch tv, 3 days ago I notice that middle of the screen is getting warmer and on picture I have ghosting, missing red color. Color red was still displaying, but it was not so strong as corners of the screen and watching some movies makes me angry.
Then I get an idea to take it apart and clean boards from dust.
In side of Tv was not so bad, I take compressed air in can, and gently blow up.

Also I was thinking to styrofoam sponge to isolate power board from screen that the middle of the screen will not worm so much. Because Led on screen when gets higher...

Hello, HP laptop model 15-EU0005NA. It does not turn on, 1 in 100 manages to turn it on then after a while it freezes/disappears/flashes, etc.

After removing the motherboard and connecting the board with RAM to the power supply, I noticed that at first all voltages start correctly and after a few seconds 3.3V on the PL4501 coil disappears and somewhere in this area something starts beeping on the board, sometimes after touching it with a finger in the area of PL4551 it stops beeping and 3.3V appears again.

Hello, I received to repair this Huawei laptop (model in the title).
The laptop will charge the battery fine throught the USB C port, but it wont turn on. The charging led will blink fast and repeatedly when trying to turn it on.

I've attached photos of the board. (the wires are for briging the power button, I did not inject voltage)

Upon visual inspection, a couple of ICs were blown. Along the 5V line leading to one of the USB A ports. They wasnt fully shorted but just a couple of ohms to ground.
I replaced the blown IC on the board (the one circled in red,...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...
