    Pioneer SX-503s series diagnostics sequence

Anyone out there know the button sequences to run diagnostics/error messages for this series of receivers? I know the sequences for the later AVR receivers.

There is nothing in the service manual. I think I've determined holding the power button down while you plug it in seems to over ride the protection mode since I can hear the relay click, but not sure.

The owner thinks this unit might have been impacted by a lightning strike.....ugh.

Standby power seems fine. Next stop is to disconnect the power amp if I can't find the diag.

Lenovo P14s Gen 5 SVP unlock
    by Syseng
This sums up discussion related to Lenovo P14s Gen5 in this thread. Credits go to Sbaro and especially Maxpower3. The locked dump is attached.

The device is based on NM-F871 motherboard with Nuvoton NPCK397 series controller. The motherboard also contains three BIOS chips: two different Winbond chips for main BIOS and external EC flash, and also a Gigadevice chip which purpose I do not know. The password information is contained directly in controller and thus can be manipulated by reprogramming it, so reprogramming BIOS chips is technically not required, however you may wish to make...

Pioneer PL-X9 motor speed control wobble
    by Bushcat
I'm starting to re-cap a Pioneer PL-X9 turntable, specifically the motor control board, because although everything tests out OK according to the service manual, the speed wavers slightly despite the quartz lock light remaining on. So, I've decided to re-cap that board since it's the cheapest next step...

Pioneer's passive component naming convention is clear to me. For example, CSZA R22M 35 is tantalum, radial leads, 0.22uF, 20%, 35V.

BUT there are two capacitors on the board which have actual Pioneer part numbers: PCL-042. I can tell they are 0.1uF, 16V but don't...

A1990 820-01814-A dead not charging - need help with diagnostics.
    by master_haze86
    Good day everyone,

Let me preface this with letting you know that I have a smalltime computer repair shop but do not have a lot of experience when it comes to board diagnostics. I am good at soldering etc but finding the issue if there isn't an obvious burnt component is not my strong suit.

The other day I got a customer come in with a macbook A1990 (motherboard 820-01814-A) that would not turn on and had previously been getting the warning message that the battery needed servicing. (Most folks seem to ignore that message, just like the check engine light in vehicles.)...

[Help Needed] Yatour YT-M06 (Pioneer 1) – Firmware or Schematic Request
    by EduCabral
    Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on reviving a Yatour YT-M06 CD Changer Emulator module for use with a Pioneer 1 interface (specifically with a DEH-P5950IB head unit).

While the unit is recognized as a CD changer, none of the USB, SD, or AUX features respond, which leads me to believe the firmware may be corrupted or incompatible.

    🔧 Details:
    • Model: YT-M06
    • Interface: Pioneer 1
    • MCU: Fujitsu MB89F202
    • Goal: Find a valid .bin firmware file or memory dump from a working unit

I'm happy to attempt flashing, analyzing memory dumps, or doing hardware-level...
