    Repair of Icom Microphones

    Hi all,
A while back I did a photo article for some ham radio friends on how to fix up failed microphones on ICOM radios.

    This is the link.

    Hope it helps.

      Icom PS-15 power supply
      by alberto79
      Hi!
I have an old (but good) Icom PS-15 power supply.
This PSU was modified by a technical and now the original control circuit is no longer there.
I want to make the original circuit because the modified circuit don't work fine.

The original circuit use an old components and i need help to find (if possible) equivalent (but modern) components.

The first components is U05, rectifier/filter.
The second is XZ-051, reference voltage.

      Thank you for help.

      Hello All,

This is a weird one. This M1 Macbook Pro was brought in for liquid damage. Customer was getting video only on external monitor. Most liquid damage was located around the backlight circuitry, namely the backlight capacitor bank. It was not too severe. Ultrasonic cleaned and about 3 corroded capacitors replaced. FP800 backlight fuse was also blown. Nothing down the line from the fuse is shorted. May have blown this fuse from overload during liquid being present.

Also had to repair area of QD530 which is PBUS VOLTAGE SENSE. Repaired traces to RD531 and RD532...

Wireless Microphones - what test gear can I use to diagnose?
      by dicky96
I'm getting asked mote and more often to look at faulty Wireless microphones.

I've already got several lying around at the workshop I don't know what to do with and I've been asked to look at two more in the last week alone!

There seem to be a mix of UHF and VHF ones.

Problem is I don't know how to go about diagnosing the faults. I have all the usual test gear for repair work , various meters and scopes etc.... but I can't even figure out the basics like how to determine whether the microphone is actually transmitting or if the receiver is not receiving....

      Hi everyone!
The preface to this article is for those who are new to graphics card repair. I'm not as talented as mods or admins either.
But in this article, I will guide you through the most basic things to quickly recognize the disease in each block, so that you can make a foundation as well as form a habit.

Note! This article may or may not be true.

Measurement: (must have boardview of course)
      Adjust the impedance scale

      12v block
Measure the 12v fuses, see if they burn out.
If the fuse blows, the risk of burning the pcb is...
