    Yamaha Q2031A 31-band Graphic Equaliser

    Hi All,

I'm after some help with a 25 year old Q2031A GEQ with gives no output.

When powered on each peak LEDs lights on both channels and there is no output.

All the LED's light when the appropriate button is depressed.

When the EQ button is depressed on each channel relay (RLY1&2) is engaged/disengaged.

When the unit is powered on/off relay 3 engages/disengages.

I have attached the service manual.

    Many thanks

Do the peak leds go out if you remove the input signal? or are they always on?

The peak LED's are lit regardless of I/P. So If no signal is connected to the inputs the peak LEDs still light up.

I would start by checking the power supplies, they seem to be +-16 volts (Q1,Q2) with a seperate +16 volt supply (Q3)

All the readings were reference to the chassis. All of the readings were positive values.

Your problem is in the negative supply, Check the voltage across C3, if it is around 20 volts, it is likely R4/R2 are open, If there is 0 volts across, C3, check D2 & D4

What a clever chap you are RJ.

Both are o/c although they look outwardly fine.

              R2 should be a 15Ω 1/4W
              R4 should be a 6.8Ω 1/4W

They are in parallel for a specific reason so I'm assuming a 4.7Ω 1/2W wouldn't do the same job?

That should be fine, Do the resistors look burnt? if not they likely just went open over time. Monitor the negative voltage when you first turn it on in case there is something on that line that is shorted.

There is evidence of heat in the area, but the resistors don't look burnt/chard.

These resistors are soldered floating above the PCB to help with with the thermal dissipation i'm assuming.

Replaced the two resistors with a 4.7ohm and it's its working again.
                    Many thanks for your help

                        Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

Help Needed: Yamaha RX-V485 Network Issue After Firmware Update (WN9711 Error)

                        Hi everyone,

I'm facing an issue with my Yamaha RX-V485 receiver. During a firmware update, the process failed, and now the USB, Bluetooth, and network functionalities are not working. Occasionally, the receiver displays the error code WN9711.

I came across Yamaha Technical Bulletin No. 0103, which describes a similar issue for models like the RX-V4A, RX-V6A, and RX-A2A. According to the bulletin, the issue can be resolved by shorting soldering points (e.g., J260 for RX-V4A or...

So I use this TV daily as a second monitor for my PC or my Playstation - at one point a few months back I tried to fix the problem - but in the process, I figured out something that works so I haven't posted this for awhile. It is an annoying trick to have to do though, so I decided to post about it to see if anyone could spot what's wrong. It baffles me because it works on it's own half the time.

When I first got this TV, I was told it wouldn't turn on, and of course I did the flashlight test, and the image was there. Also, the red LED on the front indicated that it had power (it...

                        YAMAHA CLP-550 without of sound
                        by AlexVG
                        Hi.
I have an old YAMAHA CLP-550 without sound. (Some times I can get some kind of noise or distorted sound)
I have replaced all green marked elements, but it gave me nothing.
The IC12 chip LC9116A-105 (red marked) remains under suspicion yet.

But it is custom YAMAHA's chip, and I can't find any information about it.
Maybe somebody came across with the same issue?
Any information will be very useful. I will be very appreciated.
                        Thank you....
