Re: Teufel Concept E Magnum PE - Subwoofer loud buzzing

Just wanted to tell you guys that I will give up this subwoofer. I accidently shorted the speaker cables while live. After that, a 220Ohm resistor R223 (the one infront of the little transistor between the two power transistor) started to smoke. After I replaced it, it smoked again. Since nobody has any other idea what it could be and me being on the brink of tossing it out the window, I will sell it for a few bucks now. Too bad I couldn't fix it after all that time. I will have it here a few more days and give it away if nobody else replies here to add some info.

The replaced A1941 has a shorted Base-Collector when soldered in.
But so was the first transistor too, and when i took it out it wasnt. The new one wasnt shorted when soldered in. I Cant understand that.

The smaller 4 transistors are still ok i think. I will Check for shorts after the emitter of the big transistor after desoldering it. this will be the last thing ill do.

The pics are off the other really long thread as they are much clearer than my phone will do.

          The fault:

In standby there is no buzzing.
After signal input and turn on, a loud buzzing is emitted from the main transformer, no backlight.

It is because the 24v line is at 21v irrespective of whether the inverter is plugged in. There is a picture on the screen.

If you wait long enough the buzzing stops and the 24v line changes to 24v and the inverter comes on.

I have checked every single cap on the psu and logic board by un-soldering...

Please help, subwoofer connected to tv, read description below
          by rustinjust
I've got a subwoofer that I've had for nearly 20 years, it did come with a basic remote which I've lost. It's a generic make of subwoofer, I can't see a brand sticker on it. It comes with 2 speakers.

Question recently I've connected it up to my tv which has greatly improved the sound on my tv, however I'd like to be able to mute the subwoofer when ads come on or just mute it when the phone rings etc. I tried using a cheap all in one tv remote on the subwoofer and the volume button would only work to increase volume but not turn it down or mute it

          Is there a way of...

Klipsch computer subwoofer speakers hissing buzzing. Does this look like bad cap?
          by link626
          Klipsch 4.1 computer speakers hissing.

Looking at all the caps on the amplifier, they all seem flat, except one maybe.

Not sure if this is leakage, or factory marker pen.

          Can you tell?

The speaker system recently developed nonstop hissing noise. after 22 years.

Is there a special kind of cap I have to buy?
          Low ESR? or general?

I replaced all electrolytics in subwoofer, still get a hum in speakers - audio clip
          by Delicieuxz
I get a faint, low hum through my PC speakers, which connect to the subwoofer in a 2.1 speaker system. The hum drives me crazy and makes me stressed. When I turn off the subwoofer, everything is quiet and I start to relax, lol.

Here's an audio clip of the sound coming from my speakers:

          https://vocaroo.com/16HaryHwTx78

I recorded with my phone's mic right next to the speaker, and the mic picked up a lot of speaker noise over top of the hum. But I don't hear that noise in the room, I just hear the lower-pitched hum that's buried beneath all the other...
