by JimBanvilleI have an RX-V2400 and another RX-V I can’t remember the model number at the moment. Both have very dim VFD displays. Both have been factory reset with no change. This seems like a common issue. Lots of talk about possible bad caps but I’ve never actually heard of anyone fixing the problem. Is it just bad caps or something else? Thanks!

Help Needed: Yamaha RX-V485 Network Issue After Firmware Update (WN9711 Error)
Hi everyone,
I'm facing an issue with my Yamaha RX-V485 receiver. During a firmware update, the process failed, and now the USB, Bluetooth, and network functionalities are not working. Occasionally, the receiver displays the error code WN9711.
I came across Yamaha Technical Bulletin No. 0103, which describes a similar issue for models like the RX-V4A, RX-V6A, and RX-A2A. According to the bulletin, the issue can be resolved by shorting soldering points (e.g., J260 for RX-V4A or...-

by BushcatI'm starting to re-cap a Pioneer PL-X9 turntable, specifically the motor control board, because although everything tests out OK according to the service manual, the speed wavers slightly despite the quartz lock light remaining on. So, I've decided to re-cap that board since it's the cheapest next step...
Pioneer's passive component naming convention is clear to me. For example, CSZA R22M 35 is tantalum, radial leads, 0.22uF, 20%, 35V.
BUT there are two capacitors on the board which have actual Pioneer part numbers: PCL-042. I can tell they are 0.1uF, 16V but don't...-

by EduCabralHi everyone,
I'm currently working on reviving a Yatour YT-M06 CD Changer Emulator module for use with a Pioneer 1 interface (specifically with a DEH-P5950IB head unit).
While the unit is recognized as a CD changer, none of the USB, SD, or AUX features respond, which leads me to believe the firmware may be corrupted or incompatible.
🔧 Details:- Model: YT-M06
- Interface: Pioneer 1
- MCU: Fujitsu MB89F202
- Goal: Find a valid .bin firmware file or memory dump from a working unit
I'm happy to attempt flashing, analyzing memory dumps, or doing hardware-level...-

by jjneI have an old Yamaha RX V675 receiver which is starting to develop issues with the sound, although it doesn't quite match up with what folk normally report with these.
From cold, the sound cuts in and out. When this happens the amp is losing sync with the optical input (speaker graphic disappears from the front panel). But this is not resolved by putting the unit into pure direct mode. After a couple of minutes this resolves, although there are occasional clicks from the speakers after that.
At first I thought it was either a speaker relay or the DSP, but I don't think...-
