My friend's system that would fail to start up for about 5 minutes. He opened it up and found bad caps everywhere. The psu was completely full of bulging G-luxons, with a lone nichicon that was still good. It had a small 40mm fan that wasn't working for the psu. The main board had a 60mm fan that only kicked on when it got really cooking, so the caps on it were all bulging. Again, G-luxon, I-Q, and Hermei. About 80% of the caps in it were swollen.
Unfortunately when he opened it up, he tore it apart. It probably would have worked with a recap. Too bad. Strangely, when I cut the leads for the little psu fan and hooked it up to a 12v battery, it spun right up and pushed some pretty good air.
