Kenwood KR-A70 Receiver Balance changes with volume controls?
    by freethink
I have a Kenwood KR-A70 Receiver on the bench, and the digital volume control is acting very funky. When I adjust the volume, the balance also changes. Volume Up = balance goes Left, Volume Down = balance goes right. Has anybody ran into this issue, or know what the problem might be?

Vizio D65x-G4 Volume changes on its own
    by karthur
On this Vizio D65x, the volume will change on its own. I don't mean like during commercials where the volume will increase. I mean its like the (+) volume button on the remote is pressed and the actual volume dialog is displayed on the screen going up. It will do this, then the volume may start going down. It might go all the way to "0"or it might stop at a different number, then start going back up. The whole time its doing this, the volume dialog is shown on the screen.

It wont do it until it has been "ON" for 20 or 30 minutes, so it does seem to be heat related....

Looking for a seemingly obscure schematic written on unobtainium parchment... Soundesign 5595
    by fitz301
    Hello,
I'm really hoping somebody on this forum, who have way more expertise than I, can help me with something.

I am searching for the schematic to hopefully repair my 83 yr old mother's console stereo system, it's a 1979 Soundesign 5595 w/ turntable, AM/FM stereo receiver, cassette and 8-track tape, everything works but there's a loud bass hum when using the cassette player and the FM radio needs to be turned up to full volume to hear it, every other part seems to work like it should with the exception of burnt out dial lights and needing new belts.

    I've been...

Help troubleshooting an audio problem with an RCA SGT-250 CED Player
    by samson7point1@yahoo.com
The Problem: This player has a toggle switch to select between Stereo, Mono R, and Mono L. Regardless of the setting it outputs the sound to both the L&R audio jacks. In the Mono R position, the audio output level is normal (from both the L and R audio output jacks), in the Stereo position the audio output is about half the volume, and in Mono L, it's about 3/4 the volume. Something about putting it into Stereo mode is causing the volume to drop significantly and I can't figure it out.

The player processes the audio signal using two different reference frequencies. The "R"...

Sony HCD-HX80R Amplifier Volume Control Problem
    by crackedprint
I have a strange fault on a Sony amplifier. The volume control varies the display from MIN, then 1 up to 30 and then MAX as expected. At MIN there is no sound. However, at 1 it is quite loud and increasing above 1 does not change the sound level.

I have tried a Cold Reset as per the service manual.

I have looked at the I2C clock and data to volume control chip IC501 (BD3499FV). Data is only sent to IC501 when the volume is set to MIN or 1. At any other setting no data is sent to IC501.

I have looked all the way through the service manual and tried many online...
