Onkyo TX-NR626 popping sound from all speakers

    Hello.

Initially, I got this AVR of ebay with faulty center channel. Now it works ok, but from some reason when I change channels on my satellite receiver or inputs from SAT/CBL to NET for example, I hear this very annoying popping sound coming from all connected speakers. This noise can be also heard when:
1.I navigate through folders on my media center PC
2.When I switch it off - here, the popping sound is even more loud, but not all the time.
I have measured speaker output on the cenetr channel, and in the exact moment when I hear this popping sound I was getting between -55 and 110mV DC on my multimeter.Does anyone know, what could cause this issue?
Here is a short video where you can hear the popping sound while I switch it off.
    sample

Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have the service manual or the schematics to the receiver. This would be useful in troubleshooting the problem.

I was thinking, hooking up two wires between hdmi board and pre-amp to my 2 channel amp. This should tell me if the problem occurs on the digital or amp side.

So how much experience do you have repairing this type of equipment? You have seen the precautions on the power board? On page 37 you have set the idling current? Page 50 it talks about a Hi-Z on some signals when booting DA830.

Onkyo TX-NR828 - popping sound every 5 min

            Object: Onkyo TX-NR828
Problem: Popping noises in the right surround channel every ~5min
            Service manual: available

After I was able to bring my beloved Onkyo back to life (total failure of the power amplifiers) and it has now been doing its job for some time without any problems, it is now ailing with a new problem. It still works fully, but after about 5min it "pops" in the right surround speaker for about 0.5 sec very loud (100% volume). I am almost scared to death - sounded like a battery exploding or something. It sounds like something is discharging - a...

Onkyo TX-NR609 Sound only on USB/Internet Radio/DLNA Input
            by Sushi1808
            Hi everyone!

I turn to you in hope someone could point me in the right direction since I lack knowledge and experience in diagnosis of audio equipment. (My experience is in computer chip level repairs.)

I bought an Onkyo TX-NR609 receiver which initially produced no sound on speakers/headphones, there was no delayed relay click, speaker matrix icon didn't show up, USB/NET stuck in "Now initializing", instead of DSP/1st NET firmware version there were ?????????...

There was flux residue around the D830K013BZKB4 DSP chip (Q3001) on the HDMI...

what i went through dealing with my mobo with dead onboard sound!
            by ChaosLegionnaire
so i took out one of my spare gigabyte ep35-ds3r mobos from storage for use to do some cpu, ram and video card testing of stuff i bought from ebay and got for free from momaka. he bought 50 e8400 cpus for cheap from ebay some years ago and i decided to help him relieve him of some of his supply since he had waaaay too many!! what did we say about hoarding too much stuff and depriving others of them?! *cough* socialism *cough* lol!

i had to blow some dust off the board and heatsinks with the datavac as i didnt clean it up before putting it in storage. after finishing...

Onkyo HT-R390 no sound output, video output ok
            by FrancescoV
            Good morning everyone,
I'm trying to repair an onkyo ht-r390 that has no sound output, despite the volume being at maximum, the rest seems to work; the video output signal (coming from an hdmi input) is present, but the audio is absent. Similar situation if I send an audio signal from any input I have no output.

The firmware reported is the following:
            M:1.00/11107BLP
            D:?.??/????????
            O:1.00/11107AL

The DSP firmware given the question marks seems corrupt.

On the BCHDM-0678 - 25140678 - QPWBCHDM0678A0 board the chip that usually seems...

            Onkyo HT-R960 No Sound
            by platinumsteel
Hi guys hope you all doing fine.I have an Onkyo HT-R960 from my uncle that he says he powered it on one day and no sound at all.I took it to try and repair it.I am also using it as an opportunity to start learning how to repair units like these and also amplifiers. When i first brought it home I also realized it wasn't outputting any video and audio tru the HDMI Ports. So followed a youtube video on how to change 5 caps to get HDMI output back.Did exactly that and now i have Picture tru the HDMI Ports. But still no audio. Checked a lot of voltages according to the schematic and also visually nothing...
