Question

I bought two of these:

Can I put this into some sort of wooden crate or box or something? Will these items even work together? I'm not going for Pioneer Bose Yamaha Denon sound I'm going for a cheap ass ghetto speaker project.

I went for 8 ohm speakers because the cheap amp will have an easier time with them rather than 4 ohm speakers. I think the 5" size will deliver enough bass.

Will be powered by low quality audio devices like laptop, phone, tablet, etc. Probably crappy compressed MP3s anyway.

But mainly I want to know if I can put it in a crate or box or cabinet or something and have it on wheels.

can't see why it would not work! sound will depend on box size for each speaker! so if in big box on wheels have two smaller boxes inside with small vents!

That is mid range speaker, 450Hz ~ 7kHz. it will not sound good. You should get full range speaker instead. The amp is fine for what it is.

For almost the same price for the two speakers and amp from AMAZON, by the time you built the cabinet for them, it may be worth looking them.

That looks OK for what you are doing, it looks like it has foam surround, so expect the foam to rot out.

@450Hz bottom range, you are not going to get good bass out of that midrange speaker in large cabinet. That is why it is called midrange speaker.

I really like the looks of that one. How much better is it than the one I just ordered from Amazon. I can always cancel and get that if it's on Amazon.

If it's not much better I won't bother but it's only $1 more expensive so if I will get better sound, Yay

The 6.5" is more sensitive so you get more sound with less power applied, the freq is not too bad, smaller cabinet sized required also.
You have to choose per your requirement, for what you are doing, 6.5" is more practical to be moved around.

Huh. Well, I'm too lazy to change it now. I can always make a v2 or use the 8" speakers for other things. I chose the bigger size for more bass

Now to make/find a box...
