Okay, but you don't really need 16 AWG wire for the speakers, especially the center and surround ones. 16 and 18 AWG is for more serious power levels (like 10W or more). For the center and surround speakers 22 AWG is plenty. Hell, I'm using 22 AWG to drive a pair of fairly-large speakers right now. At 1W output, they already make the walls in my room rattle like crazy. The speakers I have a just standard 8 Ohms. With that impedance, and 1W of output power, there's about 350 mA going through the wire. At 8 W output, there's about 1 A though the wire. So you don't really need very thick wires unless they are very long.

If you had the space, I would suggest you go to a thrift store or Craigslist and pick up a pair of large oldschool late 70's or early 80's stereo speakers, along with an amp from the same vintage (a modern amp will do fine too, though). You'll be pretty amazed, I think. Not to mention if you look around a little more, you can probably get all of that for really cheap. But if you have a sensitive neighbor upstairs, I would suggest getting a nice pair of headphones instead and a good amp to drive them. Better than any surround-sound setup, IMO.

BTW, here's something to test your headphones (or surround system) if you like:

Denon AVR 1908, High pitch noise on Surround back Left channel after long overhaul
        by karatzdi
        Hello,

I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!

So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.

Spent some time downloading the Service...

        Vizio M60-C3 Left Edge problem
        by Pinky Deepak
I have a M60-C3 where the left edge has started showing issues as seen in the picture attached. Along with this, I also noticed some darkening on the left half of the screen which went away after I left the TV unplugged. i initially thought it was the led backlight that was wearing out but looks like something to do w the TCONN board. I searched this forum but couldn't find anyone else seeing this issue. most of them were LH/RH completely gone. any insights or guidance is appreciated.

Here's a video of both the issues: https://youtu.be/hMqc760nB3o

Panasonic Tx-40cx400b top left half screen not displaying correct
        by armoured_smiler
        Hi,

Trying to work out if this is TFT problem or TCon issue.
The TV powers up but the top half of the screen, from the right it is OK, but as you look across to the left halfway across it starts get duller and duller until it is very dark on the lefthand side, currently I trying to clean the remote as it seems to have something film wise on the pads stopping it from registering buttons pressed.

Also when changing the screen size of Windows PC display to say to a smaller pixel sizewindow, the original window displayin the top left stays/takes a few seconds to disappear?...

HH Scott Model A510 Stereo Integrated Amplifier/ Graphic EQ - Blowing fuses in the LEFT speaker channel only. Any Help???
        by Sik_6ty_Sixx
So like the title says, I have an old Stereo Receiver/Amplifier that I picked up from the goodwill, it's a HH Scott Model A510. When I first got it home it had zero output. Opened it up, notice the fuses are missing. Pop in 2 new fuses (AGC4A 250V) and try again, within 5 seconds the L channel fuse POP! I don't see any visible indications of damage or arc burns on the PCB, no popped resistors or diodes, no burnt traces or blown out caps. So I decide to just try another new fuse, POP. Swapped around my R and L speaker wires, and checked the integrity of all wires and connections. Everything looks...

70LE660U dark cloud or black screen with sound.
        by Rozp
        Hello Everyone,

This is my first post so I will try to be as precise as possible without making this post too long winded. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the original problem but I included images of the TV internals.

I have a Sharp 70LE660U. The problem started a few months ago with the bottom row looking out of sync and was dark on the left side and then fading to transparent on the right side. Shortly after, a dark cloud appeared in the center of the screen. The dark cloud started small and shaded but the image was visible. It also affected the menu area....
