Picked this up a few days ago knowing it had this fault hoping I could easily fix it but regardless the FM works fine so I have a good little radio or at least until I begin to 'operate'.
Everything appears to function fine.
Power the unit up and the LCD panel flashes up with a blue blank screen, then goes off, black, and comes back on with the display 'Getting time...' and it will just stay there forever without obtaining the time signal, the aerial is fully extended and not damaged and is connected internally.
Bring the unit out of standby, i.e. the 'Getting time...' mode, and it powers up showing the 'Pure Evoke 2-XT' splash screen and a progress bar, I guess searching for Dab signal but just comes up with 'No stations available'.
The Fm radio works fine, auto and manual channel searches, volume up/dwn etc... All the options in the menu works just not the Dab tuning, it will search but just not find anything.
I can even reset the radio by pressing and holding the 'Menu' button for 3 secs and accept by pressing the 'Tune' knob. But still no Dab function.
Put the unit back into standby and it goes back to the 'Getting time...' mode.
Sorry if this is getting long winded!
Open the unit up and all caps 'look' good as do all other components and solder joints, so nothing really obvious.
If I power it up with the tuner board removed the LCD panel flashes up with a blank blue back light then immediately turn off and stay off. I guess this at least proves that the tuner board is being recognised though suspect it is in fact the tuner board thats faulty and non-repairable, just wondered if there is anything that can be checked.
The boards do not have any labelling so can't easily identify pin-outs on the connectors and unfortunately there do not appear to be any schematics/service manuals available and does not seem to be a common fault, can't find much on-line but could just be looking in all the wrong places.
Thanks!
