Need Schematic Sunfire True Subwoofer Junior

    Hi all,
Did a web search and failed to come up with a drawing for...

    Sunfire True Subwoofer Junior

It's a home 'bass box' unit.

The amp is well and truly blown up, all kinds of bad semi's.

    Ideas welcome.

      Mr B,
That looks a lot like the unit I have. Mine has some subtle changes. As in using ribbon cables rather than discrete wires making the PSU jumper.

I failed to take photos, managed to mess up the USB system in my computer.

Did get a print of a similar unit that made much more power.
      The circuit looks similar.

Right now I have a bunch of shorted and leakey semiconductors.

I don't want to waste the clients time and money by buying counterfeit transistors.

The main output transistors are OBS and I am real leery about ordering them from Chinese vendors on the web.

The FET's im on more firm ground, I can get them from Mouser.

      Do you have a schematic?
      As my dog would say,
      Beg Beg, whine and whimper?

      Thanks in advance.

Yes I called them, talked to a techie type there.

They do not issue drawings or schematics.

          So Im still stuck.

The client found a page of carver drawings and that is where the 'close' document came from.

            budm,
My pcb matches the one in your photobucket library. I was wondering if you know which are the filtering caps that need replaced to fix humming sound on these subs. Help much appreciated.

I know this is an old post, but if you still have a hum issue try tightening up the grounds inside the unit.

Old post but a common problem: The 13V supplies are usually the source of the (no input cables connected) hum problems. On the power board replace C45, C46, C40, C39, C38 and C37. On the input preamp board replace: C7, C15, C17, C31, C32, C41 and C42. Use low ESR and low ripple caps. This applies to 2700W plate amps that have serial numbers that do not start with '96' (the year of production).

BTW: C18 (100uF) on the preamp is the cap that goes bad in the sleep/wake circuit.

Discovered that input to left or right channel will instigate a rumbling noise from sub , which is still present when signal removed.

Also discovered that if i monitor the plus 173V across one of the main smoothing caps, which is stable with no signal , but when input provided voltage can fluctuate 152V - 168V . Replaced the cap , which made no difference .

The minus 173V across the other cap is fine .

Could really do with some help trying to isolate this issue.

I've got a subwoofer that I've had for nearly 20 years, it did come with a basic remote which I've lost. It's a generic make of subwoofer, I can't see a brand sticker on it. It comes with 2 speakers.

Question recently I've connected it up to my tv which has greatly improved the sound on my tv, however I'd like to be able to mute the subwoofer when ads come on or just mute it when the phone rings etc. I tried using a cheap all in one tv remote on the subwoofer and the volume button would only work to increase volume but not turn it down or mute it

                  Is there a way of...

                  by TinkerTron
                  Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on a mid-70s Sharp Electronic Digital Clock Radio, Model FY-70CH. I found the service manual online, printed it out, and have been studying it for a while. My main reasons for tackling this are: (1) I want to learn electronics and figured I'd start with something I had on hand, and (2) I want to fix its issues. Right now, the radio sounds awful, has about 5V DC at the speaker terminals, and the alarm time setting doesn't work. But I'm not asking how to fix these problems.

Instead, here's what's been bugging me so far:
                  The schematic...

Ii wonder if anyone can help me. I have a Acer x163w monitor which is not powering up. The PSU main capacitor's one leg had completly come off - I replaced it but the PSU is still not outputting DC. I found the monitor in questions service manual here on manuals lib but the schematic in there is a completely different - the schematic shows no mosfet to drive the transformer while the one I have does use a mosfet - also the schematic shows only one optocoupler but mine has two.
The PSU board is labelled FM-20A02-AAA made by APD as per the image below. I am trying to find a schematic for this...
