    harman kardon avr 225

I have Harman Kardon AVR 225 and when I turn it on and use the on screen display to make sound adjustments and or speaker size adjustments, the on-screen display starts to fade in and out. but after a few moments this fading in and out ends. but somtimes returns when I adjust the DSP SOUND MODES i.e. STEREO, THEATRE and or 5 CHANNEL SOUND. Also there is a low hum in my speakers at various times when volume is up but dissapears after the amp warms up . ANY feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks kobster511

Smart of you to post here because those are very much Badcap symptoms.
More specifically I suggest power supply filter. I'd guess one large cap that's failing.
An oscilloscope is helpful but I used to just strap on a test cap across the suspects and watch for the improvement.
    Hope this is helpful.
