Bench inspection lamp- replacing with LED

Decided to change broken flourescent ring with an led alternative bought off Ebay. It came without any details of required supply. The supplier
does not have this information, just that its been stored in warehouse for 10 years. I want as bright a light as possible but am concerned that at too high a voltage will burn out the led's.
There are 90 led's each with a small yellow spot in the centre of the inside of each led lens. Could these be mains tolerant led's. I've put 9-14v DC on the circuit and lamps glow but not to their full luminance. How much voltage can I apply without fear of burnout?
If I'm reading the circuit correctly the lamps are configured in sets of 5 with a resistor of 15 ohms. Each set supplied in parallel.

those are straw-hat leds, probably 3v and 20-30mA max
so how exactly are they wired again? 5 in series per resistor or 5 in parallel?

if they are in series try 12v

Change the resistors to a led driver that limits the current to 20ma. Put on 24vdc PSU and don't worry about the LEDs. That's how I fixed a whole auditorium that was full with these LED lights that burnt out.
Take all LED strips out, replace every LED on the board and change the resistor to current limiting LED driver 20mah, correct new voltage adjustable DC power supplies instead of transformer to get them to dimm. Then installing teverything again. Still works perfect 12 years later. Easy fix. But it was a lot of work.

Back then I used NSI45020… but now much better things are available like NSIC2020JBT3G.

The leds are in banks of 5 wired in series with a15 ohm resistor. Theres 18 banks all supplied in parallel.

          needs atleast 15v then - maybe 18

            Replacing Mode Indicator LEDs
            by VitalComputing
            Hi all,

I have what should be a simple job but is causing me issues. There are three LEDs (yellow, green and red) on the indicator panel of a solar PWM controller and these have broken off. I need to replace them but I am unsure of the voltage drop across these. I don't want to replace with random LEDs in case they blow.

I took one of the LEDs out of circuit, put 19V across it with a 500 ohm resistor in series and there is a drop of about 13V across the LED, and this seems to increase as I increase the input voltage.

I thought I could just put a resistor...

About replacing individual LEDS on BL strips
            by edugimeno
            Hi There!
Having fixed 5-6 TV sets by replacing full LED strips, and having watched other people fix that by replacing just one LED in the strip, my question now is what should I consider before doing so.

At this time I have some old strips removed from TV's with all but one LED working. Are there different voltage/current LED on different strips? Are 99% of them just the same and interchangeable?

How do you find which specific model is needed for each strip? When I check if a LED is OK by attaching the multimeter leads to the individual led pads on the strips I...

Corsair K70 LUX RGB dying LEDs
            by Pipolups
            Hi there !

I'm having an issue for several weeks with my quite old K70 LUX RGB keyboard. I haven't used it for few months, and once I setup up again my desktop computer, I got several dead LEDs on that keyboard. I tried the Corsair troubleshooting thing (disabling options in iCUE, ...) but nothing changed so I conclude that for some reason some LEDs went in retirement...😅
Decision taken to change these LEDs as I have access to desoldering iron and binocular magnifier, I wrote a ticket to tech support, hopping to obtain the LEDs reference and... They refused to tell me 🙄...

            Sharp LC-80LE844U Blinks 2 slow, 5 fast
            by joblo37pam
It's been a while since I've checked in here or needed input on narrowing down what to replace on a TV repair, but I've got one on my bench now that has me wondering. The lack of part (board) availability means I may need to do some component-level diagnostics, and a second opinion is always good when it comes to that.

The issue - Sharp LC-80LE844U does not display. Power light comes on for a while, then you can hear a relay click off and the light blinks twice slow, then five times fast. Service manual points to 'Panel Power Supply Error' with this code, but isn't much more help...

Epson 5040UB Projector No Lamp Strike Stuck in Startup - Blinking Status/Lamp Lights
            by vestaviascott
Hoping someone here can put me on the right track. I'm trying to troubleshoot/flowchart the "internal projector error" on my newly acquired Facebook Marketplace bought Epson 5040UB projector (3LED, not DLP). Owner said it needed new lamp, actually error code blink pattern indicates "Internal Projector Error, call Epson support". Unit is out of warranty as of 8/19

            Here's what happens:

            1) Power on
            2) Blue power indicator lights and the lens cover motor opens the lens cover, light fan noise heard
            3) Blue status light flashes for appx 4 minutes...
