Exploded component on a conga 990 vacuum motherboard

    Hello all,

Very common problem but i can't do anything without knowing what that component is and what he is doing?

The vacuum automatically turn the brushes endlessly when battery is plugged in, nothing else. Weird behavior. The plug on the right is the battery in, 14.4V, 2.6Ah.

I'm pretty sure the chip fuck everything up, can somebody help me to identify it?

Thanks for your input, I already try my best but the crater in the chip doesn't really help...

Sadly this chip seems to be unique on this board and I tried to find another motherboard-like picture online to compare to, but found nothing.

Will my last hope be guessing what it is ?

Just to be perfectly clear it's the U4 component above the two R100 resistors.

Nothing's visible on it except the hole and it did break when I tried to desolder so no more chance to read anything

try using white spirit / mineral spirit to remove the conformal coating from it
16pins, all inputs on one side and all outputs on the other side is interesting.
            maybe it's a H-bridge

              Very interesting comment, thank you!

I did try to remove the coating, white spirit, isopropyl, still nothing visible on it due to the implosion. My last attempt was to desolder it but I fail miserably and the bloody thing falls apart in pieces. Instant regret.

Indeed it seems to be like a H-bridge. After probing, one side goes to the processor through resistors and the other comes from power supply.

Further in my research, I did find another picture of a look-alike motherboard but again, the reference is barely visible and I did multiple search (mostly like 4x54LRY) but still nothing. I'm getting somewhere, but still in complete darkness

OMG that's it ! Thank you so much ! May I ask you how you find it ?

I have a hot air station, will need some training tho but It's doable.

Thank you again, you made my day already

Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 14IRP8 - help identifying what exploded in the motherboard
                      by iminusjk
                      Hello everyone,
I hope this finds you doing well.

I need some help identifying what and how important is that exploded in my laptop's motherboard.
                      Photos attached.

                      My laptop is a 1 month old Lenovo Yoga Pro 9 14IRP8 (83BU), i9-13905H, RTX4070, 64 GB ram.
It was in the charger, and I was excited to play FC24 for the first time, but when the loading screen came something exploded in the laptop and it shut down.
It didn't turn on for about 30 seconds after that, but then it turned on and has been working seemingly perfectly (at least I didn't notice...

Asus ROG Strix Scar G533qm with a G733qm Motherboard, can I modify the Bios to accept G533 Bios
                      by glovecaps
                      Hello,

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.

My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.

The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this...

Hoover FM216LI cordless vacuum refuses to charge
                      by flat-earther
I have a Hoover FM216LI cordless vacuum which isn't charging its internal battery.

I opened up the unit, and it has 6x Samsung ICR18650-22P cells connected in series.
5 cells were at about 3.3-3.1V. one was at 2.4V, so I assumed this cell was bad that's why the vacuum wasn't charging so I replaced it with another 18650, but after that the problem still persists, the vacuum turns on a bit and then cuts out since the batteries are empty.

So I think the over discharged battery wasn't the culprit, it was a symptom of the unit not being able to charge its batteries....

                      HP Envy 17-3290NR 3D Blank Screen - motherboard Louis V1.1 6050A2489901
                      by Archimedes
Subject is a blank screen issue in HP Envy 17-3290NR 3D version laptop with motherboard Louis V1.1 6050A2489901 MB-A02. Production year is 2012. This one is a 2nd hand motherboard which I could use it for few months only. Suddenly no output from the internal display and also no signal from HDMI port then Windows out of order after few boots.

Caps lock working normally and no HP's caps-lock warning blinks. Making a hard reset and replacing the RAM sticks or using different slots didn't help.

Fans are spinning. Blindly could install windows11 and got the device manager...

                      ASUS P5GC-MX motherboard recap
                      by momaka
Here’s another motherboard that needed a full recap: an ASUS P5GC-MX.
This one was gifted to me some years ago by user Pentium 4, along with a few other goodies. It actually came in working order with no bulging or leaking caps. However, I noted there were United Chemicon KZG caps everywhere on the motherboard. The CPU VRM output (CPU V_core) was the only exception: it had only 2x KZG. The rest was 6x UCC TMV 4V 680 uF caps… which aren’t any good news either.

So here is what the motherboard looked like with its original caps:
