    JCD 8898 zener diode ratings

I have a JCD 8898 has a faulty zener diode ,I'm looking for a replacement zener voltage rating.

Does the zener have any marking on it?

It's got a greenish bluish line around it

It's a glass zener diode with a single blue line

The blue ring only states it is a zener diode, but does not give a value.
I could not find a schematic, so you may need to trace out the circuit to try and figure out what the zener does in the circuit

I also did not find a service manual or schematic for the unit. I did find a unit tear down from one that was in the US but, they did not mention the Zener diode. It was a 15-minute explanation and tear down and it was at about 11 minutes into the video where the tear down started.

The below link is a more direct tear down and explanation of the parts which might help you.

It's a strange soldering station - super cheap at ~$30 and the SMPS power supply looks so small.
MELF diode D5 looks like part of a capacitive dropper arrangement for the top MCU board power. It's just strange that isn't powered by the lower board SMPS and it seems to use a triac for the soldering iron heater (as well as the hot air), which is odd/ The heaters must be all mains powered?

Without clear pictures or a schematic, there's no way to guess the zener's voltage or to figure out the power system.
I would suspect the dropper capacitor failing low value before the zener.

The zener diode there is at 5.1v, it goes to the XC6206P332MR (3.3v, 662K sot23), and it powers the MS51FB9AE - Nuvoton controller.

                      Hello!
I resurrect this topic to ask if original poster (or anyone else) managed to fix the rework station.
Mine suddenly stopped displaying in solder iron display and it would not go hot. Hot air display operates as before as well as the air gun.
Zener diode D5 was shorted but replacing it with a PH C5V1 to no avail. Now there is a voltage drop of 0.7V.
I tested all the marked path in the photo above with continuity and they are ok. I cannot find anything else shorted or burnt. All resistors measure within specifications.
Any ideas? Can it be the heating element in the solder iron? Can anyone who has the device confirm that by removing the solder iron from the central unit the display stays on?
                      Thank you in advance.

                        TV backlight zener diode
                        by unimatrix93
Hello everyone, I'm repairing an LG TV backlight and I noticed some strange behavior when I touching the backlight strip with a missing Zener diode.

So I replaced the leds on the strips and they seemingly working fine, but soon as I touch the strip which has a missing Zener diode the whole backlight turns off for a few seconds and then turns back on.

Is this caused by the missing diode? If so what kind of zener diode should I use to replace it?.

The led strips has 9 6V leds.

I have bought this Zener Diode for this project what size and wattage resistor value do I need to use to get near 50 watt output
I bought this from an eBay seller but unfortunately they only had one

I bought three from Vetco Electronics these are Sylvania ECG5185A 9.1@10w A to Stud what size and watt resistor do I need to use to get near 10 watt output
I bought three of from them to also make battery packs with this output power limit in mind

I want to use this battery pack and turn it into a 9.1 output battery pack output to eliminate using 9 volt battery...

What zener diode might fix the sound on Maestro Mayhem gaming chair?
                        by nev1001
Hi, I'm looking for a bit of help trying to fix the audio unit from a Maestro Mayhem 4.1 gaming chair please.

The chair has a few speakers and vibration motors. All was well, for a while, but now the sound is gone.

It may be significant that I discovered my son was powering it with a 19V laptop charger when it should run on 12V - it did fully work, for bit.

I think an issue could be a zener diode (or capacitor) which has shorted out.

The board's bluetooth input still works, the vibration motors are working, so is the line out socket but not the...

Element 32 inches tv (ELEFW328B) Unknown component: Diode or zener?
                        by Vincenzo2
My Element 32 inches tv (ELEFW328B) lost it's backlight (confirmed with a flashlight test) and the connector on the PCB (it has one board that has a processor chip, switch mode power supply, and backlight circuit) that has the two wires that go to the backlight LED strips has a very low voltage (28-29 volts) when turned ON, in my opinion.

Started testing components and found an SMD diode or zener that is shorted (even zero fusing resistors read a few tens of milliohms, while this thing reads zero).

I put some pictures here to show that it is labeled "M7"....

Corsair RM1000e - Help identify 5VSB Zener diode
                        by hobostove
Hey there guys. I've got a Corsair power supply that's come across my bench dead. I usually don't mess with power supplies, but it's a slow week so I'm giving it a whirl.

Taking it apart I heard a screw rattling around inside, and when I got it apart I found a couple blown components near what I think is the 5VSB area.

There's a 22ohm resistor that's melted and open, but it still has the bands.

The other part is a zener diode and it's top went to jesus, so I can't read the marking.

It looks like the diode connects the source and drain of a TNY284...
