I was reading somewhere that when decoupling power supply circuits, to make sure that they dont run desaturated. I haven't heard of such of thing. what does desaturation mean and does it make any sense to anyone?

by karatzdiHello,
I know some might say... just buy another one. Sell it as parts..!
So had this AMP for quite some time. Recently I saw light smoke coming out of the AMP. Had my fire extinguisher close by. Just kidding. Turned immediately all devices off from mains.
Let things cool a bit, and opened up the amp device. I clearly saw on the main board which hosts the 5X amp (5.1), 3 10 ohms 1W resistors had their leads looking black, while the rest of the remaining 2 x 10 ohms were brownish as being installed from factory.
Spent some time downloading the Service...-

by agoncarenkoGood time of day to all,
I have a laptop - PC Specialist PC50DS - that I am attempting to repair.
(Also manufactured and (was) sold under names of Clevo PC50DS and Schenker XMG 15 Pro)
Laptop is:- Not powering on
- Not taking charge.
Before I proceed, I would like to add some context: I am by no means experienced in laptop board repair. I have one repair under my belt, for which I had access to Boardview schematics (.brd), which helped me greatly by being able to see HOW and WHAT WITH each component interacts and "Follow the circuit"....03-16-2025, 03:56 PM -
by Nagy DanielHi, I'm Daniel, and I'm new to the world of repairing motherboards.
I would like to create a table, or more likely a guideline about the voltage rails and their possible resistance rail.
I know that the motherboard design has a very big depend on the rail's resistance, but I would like to know what is the smallest value for a rail that can be acceptable. For example, I heard that some new gaming motherboards can have 0,5 Ohm resistance on the GPU rail, but on an older type, it could be a sign of a shorted GPU rail.
So, I generated a table with AI so I can... -

by harpI thinking to modify some ATX ver 1 supply, and wonder what if I connect 10k pot on 12v and center tap on brown wire? What range of 3.3v correction can to expect, or something will blow up if I close to rails, leave narrow 3.3v range?
It is KA7500B ic, but 3v3 sense is connected to TL431, I am not sure there is any connection between. - Loading...
