    Recapping a Netgear DG834GT

    Hi

Apologies if this thread is in the wrong sub-forum but I did read all the descriptions and this one seemed to suit my question the best! This is my first post so be gentle :P

I've had a few issues recently where my Netgear DG834GT was starting to slow down (broadband speed, sync speed was fine) and get rather hot so I headed off to Google and found a number of people saying that Netgear used bad capacitors and they had the same symptoms as me! I opened up the router to find lots of Teapo caps, which are apparently really bad. Anyway, I've checked the capacitance and voltage of each cap and came up with the following spreadsheet for replacement Panasonic caps (the only ones that are the correct hight/diameter):

Could some kind soul please tell me if the caps I have chosen will be OK? The reason I've only looked at using RS Components is because we have an account with them at work and I can pick the bits up on my way home

    Thanks,

    Craig

Those will probably be OK. For the 1000uF 6.3v cap, I would recommend the second option (526-0932).
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Thanks for the help c_hegge I've ordered the parts and I'll be fitting them either this evening or tomorrow evening, depending on if I can clean the motherboard with a citrus degreaser or not as it's been in a smokers house and it STINKS!
