    Thanks for the help c_hegge I've ordered the parts and I'll be fitting them either this evening or tomorrow evening, depending on if I can clean the motherboard with a citrus degreaser or not as it's been in a smokers house and it STINKS!

    Do you think this cleaning method would be OK to use on a ADSL Router? They have no BIOS battery to remove but they manage to keep their time somehow, will that remaining charge cause a problem?

  • Recapping a Netgear DG834GT

    Hi

    Apologies if this thread is in the wrong sub-forum but I did read all the descriptions and this one seemed to suit my question the best! This is my first post so be gentle :P

    I've had a few issues recently where my Netgear DG834GT was starting to slow down (broadband speed, sync speed was fine) and get rather hot so I headed off to Google and found a number of people saying that Netgear used bad capacitors and they had the same symptoms as me! I opened up the router to find lots of Teapo caps, which are apparently really bad. Anyway, I've checked the capacitance...
