    Multimeter "s/o" select option

    Hello,
Today I have bought used Voltcraft multimeter. It has option to measure "S/O". I don't know what this means. Googling I have found "signal out" but that is still unclear to me. It is between buzzer (continuity) and TEMP. The multimeter is M4660A.

Do you what this is and when it is used?

It seems it is signal generator with possibility to change frequency, but what waveform?

    Re: Multimeter "s/o" select option

    From the manual
    With the
function "S/O" = Signal Out, 10 different preset frequencies from 10 Hz
to 10.24 KHz can be recalled. For this a special adapter (option) is needed
which is connected to the CAP-measuring socket.
Could used for signal injection for testing an audio amp for example, I'm sure there are many other uses as well See Page #15

Thank you. I missed that one potential application. I was wondering where that could be useful.

How To Test a P-channel Trench Mosfet Using A Multimeter In Diode Mode
        by dj8452000
I am new to electronics and I'm understanding most of what I'm reading but I have a mosfet on my board that I've identified as a P-channel Trench Mosfet. I haven't a clue how to test this and what I should expect to see with the multimeter probes. I am hoping someone with years more experience than myself can help me understand how to use a multimeter to read this. Please look at the drawing I have attached to this and can you try to explain to me what I should be doing with my multimeter in diode mode and what results I should expect from a good mosfet?...

Multimeter Repair - continuity buzzer (RAPID 328 DMM)
        by tmcw
I have one of these cheap multimeters, and when set to continuity/diode setting, and the probes touched together, the 20mm piezo makes a scratchy, muffled, weak noise, barely noticeable. The display does show the response, going from "1" to "0.00".

The piezo is ok, I transplanted it to a similar multimeter, and it makes a nice loud tone. I tried a couple of smaller piezos, the type pulled off old motherboards (12mm type), and it makes the same scratchy, muffled noise.

However, I did find a bigger piezo (about 22mm diamter), that I think was pulled...

        Craftsman 82345 Multimeter broke!
        by trex66
My daily carry just stopped working only me. Started last week with the voltage flickering. Found one lead was broken and I ordered new ones. New leads didn't change anything, it displays “-1” on all settings but on continuity will give the tone when touching. Checked battery and found the fuse blown. Replaced fuse but same results. Cleaned the dial and led display and its parts. Board looks nice and clean no burned or broken components. Nothing traumatic happened to this multimeter I put it aside when I found the lead broken and didn't touch it until I got the neAnyone have any ideas what's...

Philips TV 43pus7505 setting display option code, help please.
        by eurgenca
        Hello.
I am dealing with a Philips TV, 43pus7505 and is stuck on boot loop.
So I ordered a used CPU board, and now I have wired picture.
I think the problem lies in display option code. According to SM, the command for setting
display code is 062598 + MENU + 032 (032 is written on a label on back of a TV).
But as soon I press the menu button TV jumps in menu. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong,
or can I manually edit option code in SAM.
