Repurposing an IPAD Air 2 any ideas feedback wanted not wanting to recycle

Is anyone on this forum that has repurposed an iPad Air 2 or any version of an iPad

If so can you please go into some details of what you did and what application you used if any

I have googled this topic and have got some ideas but I looking for more ideas

One idea have is to use it as multimeter data logger which I already have the meter for this purpose
Another I use as a music listening device for music that has been purchased

    Or doing both idea

    Thanks

root it and you can install a terminal on it for serial logging.
and install gridrunner on it too.

For some time, notebooks/tablets/all-in-one PCs have used LCD panels with an Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) interface which typically has a standardized pinout except for manufacturer use pins which are typically left unconnected in normal use - for this model of tablet, the display resolution is quite good for the viewable area; a compatible display controller is available to repurpose the panel.

One final word: the right to repair should also extend to the right to repurpose.

I did find a purpose for this iPad but I play hell do it

The first problem was it was my son’s iPad and he had forgot the password but for some strange reason I happened to remember what it was but because it had not been used in several years the iCloud connection was locked and could not be reset correctly anymore

So I send Apple support a reset request ( use this option when nothing else works this is a pain in the a** to do )

You have to wait 7 days for Apple support to make sure that it is you the owner of the iPad and then they set it up so that you can reset the iCloud password

I finally was able to get the iPad back to do a factory reset and setup the iPad for a new purpose

What I have done is turn into a Fluke data logger and a Own meter data logger

This is only thing that is on besides the the application that comes with the iPad to begin with

I tried searching the forum for whether this has been uploaded already, but couldn't find them (as a collection).
Here's a dump of a bunch of iPads, I've split into 2 archives to get under file limit

Apple iPad Pro 3rd Generation 12.9" (A1876) No Power/Charge When Screen Is Connected
          by grimacelord
          Hello.

Working on an Apple iPad Pro 3rd Generation 12.9" that has a weird issue. When the display is NOT connected, the iPad will charge and power on normally. I know it's on because I can hear notification sounds and the charging notification sound.

If I connect a brand new display to the logic board, the iPad will not turn on at all. When I connect the iPad to an 18W wall charger and a USB-C ammeter, I can see that the iPad is attempting to charge, but constantly "resets" after just a moment or two.

For example, when I connect the iPad to...

iPad Air A1475 Boot loops after replacing battery
          by trepachka
This iPad was working fine except the battery was not holding charge for more than 40 minutes. I replaced it with a new battery. I haven't glued the battery yet, just inserted it into the slot and held it with battery screw.

The iPad was powered on with the new battery and I am getting white screen with Apple logo for about 10 seconds, then the screen turns dark. It then cycles like this forever.

I know the battery is working because the iPad continues to boot loop without the charger until it depletes to 0% and the message displays I need to plug in the charger.

ipad pro 9.7" blew a SMD component while replacing the screen 🤦‍♂️
          by ipatch
i have an ipad pro 9.7" (1st gen) A1674 where i replaced the screen, but never attached the screen to the frame/chassis (glued down) due to the ipad being previously dropped so the new screen would never fit in the frame properly. so i need flex/bend the chassis to eventually fix the new screen in properly. so i temporarily just applied blue tape around the edges of the screen to keep it in place. when watching videos with the ipad the screen started flicker, so i though maybe the new quasi cheap amz screen i purchased was going out. so i disconnected then reconnected with power still on,...

iPad Pro 12.9 (6th Gen) screen shuts off after unplugging device
          by SarcasticOP
          Greetings,

I have an iPad Pro 12.9" 6th gen tablet that had a screen replaced about 10 months ago at a repair shop and last week the screen went blank during use. The device was still on, notifications played sound for example. I have replaced the screen twice, both screens are working until I unplug it, at which point I can see that screen is on but is all black. If I press the power button, the backlight goes off, and when I press it again, the image appears for half a second and then the screen goes back to being black but on. This issue is not present at all when the iPad...
