"AAy66" is the marking.
the package is "sot-89" / "UPAK"

Unfortunately, SMD markings are not standardized. Retracing its path on the circuit you removed it from could help with identification.

Usually such package (SOT-89 as mentioned by stj) is used for LDO(Low Drop Out regulators).
