any clues ? its just for a better one than the bulging one so i can put it back together .. its working after gpu reflow . only fixed it for practice . -
Re: closest match for Nichicon HZ 6.3v 2200 uF
I'd just replace it with a polymer capacitor. Depending on the location, probably any ultra low esr 1800uF or higher polymer capacitor would do.
As you say it's working now, measure the voltage across that electrolytic capacitor while the xbox runs. If the voltage is below 4v, then you could use cheaper 4v rated polymer capacitors, otherwise you'd have to stick with 6.3v
You can find lots of 4v or 2.5v rated polymer capacitors on video cards and motherboards, if you have broken on old ones you no longer need... but maybe not quite so high capacitance.Comment

Re: closest match for Nichicon HZ 6.3v 2200 uF
this one stands on its own amongst different ones away from heat . all other values the same look good physically . and there are lots of them . this one is near the gpu that became detached in places . will do voltage but will it be correct with faulty cap or do i use a generic for testing ? or just remove it first ?Comment

by DrewPhillipsHello All, I have on the bench a couple of PSU's which have some failed Nichicon PL series caps. They didn't "puke" their guts through the top, but instead "diarrhea'ed" corrosive brown electrolyte through the bottom, down the legs and onto the board. On one cap, the electrolyte rotted the cap right off the board leaving 2 little stubs, and also corroded a trace on the foil side.
The PSU's are Power-One MAP series and are ringing-choke topology. The semiconductors have date codes in 1993. The PSU's were used in a commercial application, fan-cooled. They had failed...-

by grimacelordHello,
Have an Xbox One S here that has a short on the 12V power rail. There is no power, beep, or partial fan spin when connecting power cable.
After diagnosing with thermal camera, Q9F1 MOSFET (NTTFS4C50N) is getting hot. When I remove this MOSFET, the short on the 12V rail disappears.
I first replaced Q9F1 with one from a donor board and then partially reassembled the Xbox to test. When I plugged the power cord in, I got a partial fan spin and I thought I had fixed it, but unfortunately, the Xbox still did not power on. So I then disassembled the Xbox... -
