So, i couldn't find my BIOS here.

14" MacBook LCDs - has Apple re-introduced a new serialisation type?
    by ronaldopdias
    Hi all,

Since about a month or two ago, we've observed a new type of 'serialisation' on the LCDs and we're just curious whether anyone has seen this
    • New LCDs straight from the factory (not programmed)- if the Mac is restarted or switched on from a cold boot, you must close the lid, then open it again (so two cycles of opening and closing the screen) in order to get display.
    • Transplant the IC onto another screen:
      • If the model and revision match exactly then it will perform as normal
      • If the manufacturer matches exactly BUT its a different revision, the colours are mostly in

Motherboard swap compatibility HP 15-an and 17T or 15-ab
    by liquidzorch
Hello. My star wars edition HP laptop has died on me. I have traced the fault down to a shorted SOC (processor) it seems. Searching online I have no motherboards for sale near me, and if I search on ebay I can see some, but they are so expensive it's not worth it. I could buy a new laptop for that price. My version is just a simple i5 without dedicated graphics.

So searching for the MB model number I have found other boards that are very similar, in the 15-ab series, and one I really want in the 17T series laptops. They vary by very little, like the battery port is missing on the...

Very strange SPI issue with 820-01521 Board
    by ugamazing
Working on an 820-01521 board that we replaced a dead CD3215 on, pretty standard. No issues were found after repairs. We stocked the board and recently pulled it to send to a customer, and noticed a very quirky issue that we've never seen before.

The only symptom is: When attempting to connect to WiFi pre-boot (i.e. to run AHT or to load Internet Recovery), after selecting the network and when entering the password, the board acts as if the keyboard is inputting characters--i.e. phantom registering--but it's not. The issue ONLY occurs at this time (SPI input presumably, before keyboard...
