FINEPLACER coreplusBGA hot- air rework station!

I try to use door hinges to make this kind of 90 degree hot air rework station!

PS: The budget is $10, cellphone and A used 852+.

Use vacuum or high temperature silicone glue to pick up the bga part, flips over 180 degree and works on it, then flips back should be the same spot. solve re-position problem.

PS: can be work on any BGA chips, memory chips, microprocessors, smd EEproms or SMD parts.

PS: Door hinge will use ball bearing door hinge.

pic : mis-written BGA to GBA.

PS: PCB needs to be no-move at all,

Went Home Depot, bought this ball bearing door hinge for $9.15, try to weld it on this (Presto 07046 Tilt 'n Drain Big Griddle Cool-Touch Electric Griddle). It is steel to aluminum...so I am studying this...

PS: The problem it is a low temperature 300c Alloy welding but I gonna need 300c to work on BGA chips!

PS: so, I gonna weld this steel hinge to steel case, just use my cheap Harbor Freight MIG/Flux Cored Welder..........

How to make the rest of the soldering arm........

I like this design is no heating elements and fans and pumps on the soldering arm, that will avoid the vibration.

PS: The solding arm up and down controls by air inflator balloon, only half automatically, down to pick up the parts and lift up to 30 degree.

PS: Sorry, this project needs to be stop!....The budget is $10, I only have $ 0.85 to finish the project, when I was at Home Depot, I saw a female panhandler I gave her $2, so now is -$1.15...... The whole project left only A door hinge........It is too big for my door!...........

Too many precision mechanisms involved in this machine to build it cheaply, even for a basic version, not to mention the missing temperature control required.

            Hola, cpt.charlie:
"the missing temperature control required." I will use this I-ready-have 825d+ smd rework station to do the hot air temperature control.

The vacuum pump is from the old Electric Inhaler.

The soldering arm up - down controls by two of the Foot Air Pumps, when the SMD chip reach the temperature, I use one foot pump
push other foot pump inside the soldering arm and left up the arm. i will need two way air switch to control up-down.

PS: The most precision mechanism is the ball bearing door hinge.

PS: this is mainly designed for reballing the TV microcontroller, put the TV microcontroller IC over 180 degree and reball right there after that put it back without using expensive optical alignment system. this is the greater benefit and bigger advantage than normal vertical hot air rework station. I tried to do this three years ago.

Nice work capwizard; Aren't you afraid someone would steal your inventions ? ..Maybe you should patent them . I'v been stolen three or four times in my life , so you should be worried too .

I'm truly interested if your promise of 10$ budget will be respected , hehe .. Following .

Re: FINEPLACER coreplusBGA hot- air rework station!

I am too old to patent them, beside I am stealing the idea from FINEPLACER's coreplus hot air work station.

"10$ budget will be respected" YES, but not including my junks, dumpster-diving and panhandling............

Adding new extras to something isn't stealing you know .. You patent the extras , that's it .
Any laws against being an old inventor in USA ? , never say old never my friend

Capwizard; Picasso used some of his paintings to survive the long winters cold , Van gogh sold one painting in his whole life and ended in suicide . Herman Melville sold one and only "Moby dick" in his life ...Tesla was poor but Tesla is "Tesla" , and you'll study the Tesla formula anyway . You can't escape a tesla , it's in the stars ..

Till now , you are mortal . Them , are not .... Well , i may be wasting your precious time , so ....

Thank you very much, very nice to hear form you.

OK, Back to work....How to do the laser positioning and optical alignment system on this
                        COREPLUS BGA rework station.

Guides the laser beam go through the middle of vacuum pick up tube, which has glass window to let laser beam go through it, at meantime glass seals the air (vacuum).

The Laser Pointer's laser beam points at the parts needs to be placed. This is make sure the BGA part is at the same location to be pick up and works on.

PS: The Laser Pointer is inside the hot air solder swinging arm, It is the beauty of this rework station and the intelligence of British people..........

For jiroy "Herman Melville sold one and only "Moby dick" in his life"
Should be this : Published in 1851, the reader reaction is very cold, the first year only sold five.

                          optical alignment system

use A Right-Angle Prisms, you can find it in some DLP TVs, add image A and image B will get the image of A + B. ....................
