Digikey, Mouser, Newark ... not sure you'll find one with 2.0" bolt pattern but plenty of transformers like that.

12v x 0.5A is about 6w, a 15-20VA transformer will be good replacement. for example see digikey list: http://www.digikey.com/short/38m0ht

      For this one http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...544-ND/3986349

Connect secondaries in parallel and you have 12v up to 1A, put it on one side and use plastic electric cable ties or some other method to attach it to pcb.

These two have 2.81" between the holes:

I found it on a pool and spa supply parts site. Used to power pool and spa controllers as well as low voltage lights in them. who woulda thought?

RadioShack sells 12V Transformers, they are expensive, but convenient if you need it quick. They sell a 1.2A 12V one for approx 10-15$ It's labeled 6.3-0-6.3 because it produces 12.6V with the two outer wires. They are not very large.
