    Pioneer PDP-R06 HDMI ports

This topic is not about troubleshooting TVs and video sources, but it is a technical discussion.

On a Pioneer Media Receiver, model PDP-R06G, only one HDMI input was fitted, despite the board having provision for components for a second HDMI input and the HDMI receiver IC (Silicon Labs Sil9021CTU) having the same provision thereof.

I still wonder why Pioneer did not install the components for the second HDMI input (it would only cost about $5 extra)... installing these components would require changes to system software to implement the second HDMI input selection.
My first choice in quality Japanese electrolytics is Nippon Chemi-Con, which has been in business since 1931... the quality of electronics is dependent on the quality of the electrolytics.

I have a couple amplifiers like that. One has the copper runs and holes for a two pole relay to pass the audio. They only installed a single pole. I put a two pole in just in case one set of contacts gets dirty. The other amp has provisions on the board for two relays so you can hook up two sets of speakers, they only installed one relay and make you send the signal to the pre-amp where it's paralleled to go to two sets of speakers. If you hook up to the power amp you only have one speaker out. Makes no sense to me.
