    FC vs. KMG?

Any opinions on which is better for general purpose use? I've been restoring lots of vintage audio stuff, and I like to use UCC caps whenever possible, because that is what was original most of the time.

I was under the impression that FC is good for audio coupling, but how do they stack up to UCC KMG for linear power supply use?

I actually prefer the long life KY series whenever I can get it, but some values are not available.

FC is good for audio. Elna CERAFINE is even better...
As for linear power supply, i think FC is better than KMG.

It doesn't really matter the KMG series is a high quality General Purpose cap while the KY is a low ESR type.

For linear filtering the General Purpose KMG series is fine but it won't hurt if you used the Low ESR KY there either. Just don't expect any advantages from using the KY over the KMG.

The only two series' of caps I stock is the NCC KMG series for general purpose use and the Pana FC for low ESR. But I mostly recap power supplies on LCDs, computer PSUs, and TVs so thats all that I need.
Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.
