I am working on automated fan speed for lab psu... the fan is 24v 0.15A, and I am connected it to 820 ohm to ground, that provide minimum silent air flow on startup. It is powered around 4v at minimum point. Parallel to resistor I connected BD139, that drive a 10k NTC. Everything work like expected, but in extended test, where I isolate NTC, I have few issues, and like to ask here for help. 1. If ntc is not connected to heatsink, it go slowly to heat up and up and fan make noise than... At point "A" I measure voltage and put NTC in flame, everything is working ok till about 1.1v, and than, if pass some level it self latch and begin heating itself, pull huge current... I must power off to prevent damage. 2. I try to put 2 diode in series from "A" to ground, but it not work, not limit voltage to 1.2v... how to control max voltage on point A but not modified others resistor (it is perfectly set to what I want)?

Thank you stj, you open my eyesI always think there is some kiloohm in there on ntc... I add a 220 ohm in extend to ntc to 24v, and in brief test it solve problem, not latch anymore. The ntc is 10k, and other two resistor value is determined to function at specific graph, so I cant just change value too much. I know, it is not good circuit, high voltage large current, but it is simpe enough and in practice ntc should not be over 100 deg.C... I do future test and if not satisfied, I have to add some sort of protection, with zenner, transistor... that not affect to graph characteristics... if anyone have idea, not complicated, I like to see...

Point A connects to ground via 150 ohm and 220 ohm resistors. At 3V, and allowing for a Vbe drop of 0.6V, the total current exiting that node is only about 30mA. Where do you get 1.2A? At 0.5V you should get about 3mA.Comment

1.2A? Really I dont know, I see that on psu display second after pass 115mA... in that time, ntc and bd139 are be hot to touch, and ntc can not to be again colded by touching like usual and fan go crazy. BD139 are later put on biger heatsink, and not overheating again...................... But ofcorse, now I have second problem, because "my simplicity"... I used ntc in metal can for testing, and it has significiant thermal mass all over the sensor. That act like small heatsink on it. Now I put flat ntc, with no thermal mass, bare sensor, and it is over heated in split of second if not strongly bond to heatsink. I dont like that, sensor should not pass current... Is there some quick fix for that, or it involve complicited schematic? I hoped that I will pass with one transistor...Comment

by hervouHi all,
I'm becoming crazy trying to fix the Philips TV of my old man (model 43PUS6201/12 - the TV, not my dad). I've read again and again discussions about this and similar TV models, on badcaps (thanks so much !). I see no other option than asking for your help.
The symptom is simple : when I plug the power cord, the red "stand-by" LED does not light on anymore, and the TV powers-on neither with the remote control nor with the rear button. I guess at this point you immediately think at the 5V (or other voltage depending on the hardware) stand-by output......3 Photos -
by harpsimple win network with optimization issue I like to ask some question about configuring simple room win network. So, there is 2 win computer, android4 device and wifi router not connected to internet. The purpose is storage space and manipulation with large files between any device. 1 pc - 192.168.0.2 (winxp sp2) wired to router port#1 2 pc - 192.168.0.5 (win10, enabled smb1.1) wired to router port#2 3 router - 192.168.0.1 with dhcp for wifi (192.168.0.101...) 4 main tablet - 192.168.0.101 (android4) wified to router wifi port I generally work and control transfer with my tablet via ES3 file...

Hello, Badcaps is my last resort. I am the first owner of the monitor. I reached almost every repair store in my area, but no one even wanted to hear about troubleshooting an old CRT monitor. At this point, I have been trying to figure it out by myself, but I have no idea where to start or look for.
I wish to know how to think and locate a failing component. I will put all my efforts to learn and contribute.
- It started with a bright and greenish picture upon starting a cold monitor.
- About 2 years ago, only on the cold boot, the screen started to occasionally flash with

by Junior247So I have a 15" LED/LCD AMP'D TV with a radio and CD player that I want to convert to a media center by having it play music and videos from a USB flash drive or SD card. I have gotten it to read an SD card but I cannot navigate the USB Interface with either the control panel or remote control even though everything appears to be connected correctly. The one thing that is different, however, is that the DVD Interface Board (AL10-M) that I am using to read the SD card is from a different TV (a Hiteker) whereas the motherboard (CV3553BL-D) appears to be from an AMP'D. Pictures of the DVD Interface...10-22-2023, 02:56 AM
