    Yihua 968DA+ Mk3 unboxing

    Hi all ,

    just a quick question

I've just bought myself a new Yihua 968da+ mk3 , I’ve got it all together now but I don’t know what this is or & where it goes, it’s obviously nothing important judging from the size of it but I think I had the same with my last Yihua rework station but I just left it in the box that time Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_3142.jpg Views:	0 Size:	1.71 MB ID:	3738546 Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_3141.jpg Views:	0 Size:	1.81 MB ID:	3738547

A chip extractor to me is the grilled handle on a deep fryer 🤣🤣 Click image for larger version

Yihua 992DA+ Hot air gun and soldering rework station, burnt mark
        by Peter_1402
        Hi Everyone,
I bought a Yihua 992DA+ hot air gun and soldering iron unit from a used market.
        1. Soldering iron works great
        2. There is a burnt mark on the hot air gun handle.
I am a bit concern by the look of the melted plastic. I opened the hot air gun handle and took some readings with a multimeter.
Heating element ~ 75ohm. (Similar reading taken from a spare heating element that came with the unit.)
Thermocouple ~ 1.5ohm. (Similar reading from the spare heating element.)
Reed switch tested ok with a magnet.
From the above test, I can conclude...

GUIDE TO USE DELL PFS EXTRACTOR or other extractors from BiosUtilities (my way)

        1. Download BIOSUtilities (thanks to platomav) and move folder "BiosUtilities" to Desktop
        https://github.com/platomav/BIOSUtilities
        2. Install python 3.11.0 or higher (both versions for 32bit and 64bit)
        3. Download Dell bios update from Dell site (in my example bios update for Dell Latitude 3420) and move it to "BiosUtilities" from Desktop.
        4. RENAME update exe WHITOUT SPACES AND DOTS! In my example "Latitude_3420_Latitude_3520_1.37.0.exe" to "Latitude_3420_Latitude_3520_1_37_0.exe"...

Please Use a Fume Extractor and a Mask
        by caspian
        Dear Forum Members,

There are very nice members in this forum who help others. I have never seen such kind experts.
But I noticed many forum members do not use any fume extractor while they do soldering. Flux is extremely dangerous if it reaches our eyes, or if we breathe it in, or if it stays on our hands.
Therefore, I ask all the forum members to follow these recommendations while soldering:
1- Use a cheap surgical mask to avoid entering the flux fume into your respiratory system.
2- Keep your eyes away from the flux fumes.
        3- Wash your hands...

        Solder fume extractor - recommendations?
        by dicky96
        Hi guys

I figured I'm gonna have to add a fume extractor to my shopping list.

To be honest I don't currently have one.

Starting as a hobbyist in the 70s, and then all through the 80s and into the 90s when I worked full time in electronics repair, in large workshops with 100+ repair engineers, I never even saw or heard of such as thing as a solder fume extractor. And that was leaded solder of course. To be honest I think you were breathing in more crap from the other engineers who smoked than you ever would from the soldering iron. In fact I kinda like the...
